A thought - wouldn't it be fun if you're in the middle of a 12man... halfway through, etc. and several "unknown" mechs show up, they can't be identified by sensors though they can be targeted... and they start attacking BOTH teams? Say... 1-2 of these encounters a week spread out very randomly. Get chatter going on the forums about it, but only from "someone that knows someone who heard of someone seeing it"... Thoughts? I think it'd be fun, personally. They could even recruit some people, give them NDA's and some free clan mechs to organize these raids.

That... was actually proposed at some point Much Earlier in Development.

The Devs or another group would run the clan mechs. Anyone Scoring a kill would get a title, and possibly access to the Clan-tech Scrap. It was a way to introduce Clan-tech as salvageable materials.

No one knows how they are going to introduce the Clans, or if they even will at this point. (I know they WANT to. but there's a lot they WANT to do with this game.)

I completely agree that would be the most bad-*** way to introduce the Clans.

Would definitely make for a fun, buzzworthy moment.

I've long contended that this is exactly how they should be introduced.

Yep that would be awesome and would be the only right way to do it :-)

But probably we will just see a big banner on the website saying: "Buy the Clan Package NOW!, Become a clanner, select your Tier and get a special hanging cockpit item!"

...And I really really hope I'm wrong.. :)

I still think it would be neat to have one drop where the clanners invaded, then nothing for a month or so. Get the forums into a frenzy, maybe get some video or screenies of "unidentified mech" targeted, etc.
