More pro reviews for MWO: Ten Ton Hammer reviewed MWO. Verdict : 68/100.
A fair review if you ask me. Even a bit over-noting the graphics and gameplay in my opinion (according to your rig).

edit : better post if I provide the link... https://www.tentonha...r-online-review

Yep, have to agree. The review is kind of accurate. It basically says that MWO is an ok game without much lasting appeal atm.
Which seems right to me.

Yeah its about right.

I especialy agree with the overpized hero mechs. 25 Dollars for a 30% cbill and XP boost? For 25 bucks i can get several AAA titles on steam during a sale.

Its amazing that people even pay for those.. shows how dedicated some people still are.

What if you have already played through those triple A titles? What if you have burnt out all your other games like a crazed pyromaniac? I value games based on how many hours I play them, so I may pay the price of a triple A title for a Hero Mech, but I could easily spend more hours on this game based on playtime.

Then i download mods.

And honestly if you can keep playing mechwarrior online i can keep replaying my tirple A titles on different difficulties.

The fact that you only need one day or less to have seen everything that MWO has to offer speaks for itself.

Oh and most tripple A titles offer more in terms of multyplayer experience then MWO offers right now so your argument falls a little bit flat on its nose since those games offer more value for less money than it costs you to purchase ONE mech in MWO.. not only that but i can get multiple triple A titles whereas i get only one ingame item that might be gone in a year or two depending on the success of this game or lack thereof.

Take darksouls prepare to die edition on steam right now.. it was or still is on sale for 8 dollars and gives humongous amounts of replayable content AND very interesting non standard multyplayer action.

Right now MWO can only dream about reaching a third of Dark souls content

OR how about the upcomming agarest gernations of war.. another game with tons of replay value.

Right now MWO simply doesnt have enough Game to varant those outragous prizes.

but then again *shrugs* WoT got away with it too i guess.

WoT only get's away with it because you can take a shortcut to high tier tanks because the grind is long there as well. Definately a bit different value here.

Proper reviews have been fairly accurate, highlighting the same problem that has had me take breaks in the past; nothing to keep players engaged except the grind for new mechs. (And then some of us are just btech nuts and will take almost any punishment for a little fix)

Graphics 90/100? Really? For a game that has just been released?

A worrying amount of people rate MWO very high in graphics.

Personally I like the mech textures but the world textures often leave much to be desired. And the options lack the ability to disable things like film grain and depth of field (although DoF can at least be disabled by turning off post processing entirely).
