Custom Decals/Unit Insignia

Such as lines of texts on certain spots like "Don't Tread on Me" or "Shoot At Bad Guys", though my personal favorite on an AC/20 would be "All Carrot, No Stick."
Little things like that, even if not really seen often help make the game more personal, as well as being able to slap on a custom insignia for the unit, or other little paint scheme quirks.
Anyone else have any ideas on this, pro or con?

I think that would be the problem, that people might make things that would be offensive to others. If there was a reporting system then it might not be so bad and keep the swastikas and flying genitalia to a minimum.

Almost forgot - your 'Mech's chest should have your rank on it, and it would be cool to have your name by your cockpit.

That's why you only allow the display of skins client side (only skins/markings that you have installed on your system will show up). Then just have the community put together packs of community-sanctioned skins and maybe down the line the developers could host the packs on this website for exposure. I imagine the community would be pretty good at policing that sort of thing.

A $1.00 custom decal job would not be all that much to spend on a mech that you drive all the time, but if someone has to pay a dollar each time he wants to put a ***** on his gun, it starts racking up, and this is assuming the most lenient punishment of removing the decal; worst case, the player gets banned in some form or other.
Of course, a simpler approach would simply be to give all players free access to pre-approved decals that they can put wherever on their mech. It lacks as much customization potential, but it's also much safer.

I'm pretty sure this will be added into the game eventually. It should not be an important thing at release but later on the ability to DL other players custom emblems would be good. (I believe MW4 had that ability)
World of Tanks will be adding custom emblems and I believe some insignia to their game with the 7.0 patch dated this month sometime, so it's a dead given that MWO will have something like that.

No Swastad#$k? Dang!
I bet they will sell you these... too bad because I loved my Adder eating BSpirit symbol... maybe they will at least put all the clans and unit insignias....
But if you want your "Ihazcheezeburger" symbols, I bet they won't be coming. "J.E.R.K." is censored... right? ****.
