Since the BJ-2 in the 3050 book hasn't been added it would be the perfect hero mech, different with missle slots in torsos as the other 4 don't have this. Plus there are far more hero mech hvy/assults that it is insane... not enohg lights/mediums heros.
Then just as i pop on to post this... yup another hero mech and for assult atlas at that... ugh... anyway please take my request in kind. Thanks for your time... others thoughts?

The Atlas is iconic for me. I will greatly appreciate being able to buy a moneymaker.
As for smaller heros? There will likely always be less...since PGI gets paid by the ton.

Yeah, I would totally love to see that.
Of course, the P2W cryhards would be all over it, like they are very other hero.
Other thing I am waiting for is them to add the GRAND DRAGON variants, and maybe give them a bit of an agility buff to give the poor Dragon chassis a chance to compete at least a little.

I also wish I had found out about this back when Founders was available...
As far as the hero mech roll outs, I also wish they would spread it out a bit more. If they had just made Sarah's Jenner a hero, people would not be complaining as much. Even though I love the game and hope PGI can get their communication up to par, I do think this was a money-based decision to only have it be a champion. They were not receiving the payout from it, so they only made it a champion, even though they put the extra work into it for paint/camo like they have done for other heros (and no other champions to date that I am aware of). So they put the work into a hero mech for Sarah, which is admirable, but they were not receiving the money from it, so they made it only a champion...

I also love playing my Blackjack 1x...8 medium lasers...116 kph...it's like having a better-armored Jenner F.

Hopefully we will get some heroes in the near future that aren't the mech of the month. What with Project Phoenix and all that. Those mechs will already have their CB bonus.

PGI makes money from units sold x price. There are obviously two elements to that equation. While the price may be higher for assaults and heavies that doesn't necessarily mean that a light hero couldn't ridiculously outperform the sales of an assault.
Add on the fact that the demand for a second light hero is probably sky high because the only other light hero is horrible. Unfortunately, since PGI will not make a serious light hero any data showing the demand is probably missing.

Ah, except the cost for them to MODEL those mechs are pretty similar. An the overall player demand still skews heavy. Certain, select Lights would certainly sell well. But if you have to spend 25K modelling the mech (they say from scratch, 45ish, so I am somewhat randomly picking a number here), and the price is consistent, 75mc per ton, you need to sell 4x as many 25 ton Mechs as you do 100 ton mechs to break even. I have seen little, and I can bet they do indeed have market research pointing it out to them, evidence to show that almost ANY Light Mech would sell 4x more than a Hero Atlas, or Highlander.
The Urbanmech might compare in VOLUme of sales, but at 30tons, it's revenue created at the same volume is less than 1/3 of an Atlas. A Firestarter or WOlhound likewise might have good sales, but people will pretty quick figure out how utterly outclassed the Wolfhound is in this environment. A Firestarter would be able to appeal possibly, but it won't have the same ability in the Competitive crowd as existing ones do (not like you are gonna see an ECM Hero soon) so I really think that while I would like to see more, that to claim the market would be more lucrative for them, is pretty much not backed by any hard numbers.
Also, even when they "Sell" a Heavy Metal at 30% off, its still twice the profit margin for them of a Spider Hero.

As for hero lights...I'd like to see a hero Jenner with six missible hardpoints and ECM capability.

Giving a little love to the older chassis is a good way for vets to purchase Heros- they've already mastered the other variants, so they won't have a long grind to level up another two variants just to make their Hero nice. And it gets newer players to look into the older Mechs, which are still some of the best.
