I can't seem to find another topic about this so here goes

What Modules are of most benefit to a Sniper mech? First thought is advanced zoom but beyond that I am not sure.

oh, my apologies if this is in the wrong sub forum :(

I like advanced sensors and target info gathering also. Lets you scan out a bit farther/faster to find damaged mechs to exploit.

Advance sensor range is a must for any mech! I only don't run it now in my Lrm Orion's, once I get mastered its in that slot!

Advanced zoom was the very first module I bought last year (much to my detriment), I'm so excited that it's been improved and actually works well now. For a long range 'Mech build, it's a must have for me.

I'd suggest improved sensor range, which is a very good all-round choice both snipers and brawlers.
Seismic sensors are more important for brawlers and fast flankers though.

After those two, I think the third is more a matter of preference. Even something simple like a shot of coolant flush to help you get off a few more important shots can end up swinging the result of a game (or at least get you one more kill or save your ***).

Since you are aiming visually, what does sensor range get you?

Currently, I have adv zoom and target info gathering installed.

Adv. Sensor range means that you can detect mechs farther away than normal, and it pops up on your map for you to be aware. Say, for example, that you're focused on a particular location while you're in Adv. zoom. An enemy mech appears from another direction, away from your general view, and your Adv. sensors pick him up, highlighting him on the map. This can alert you to targets in range, which you can switch your attention towards it and whatnot.

Adv. Sensors helps you with the situational awareness while you're sniping.

Advanced zoom, target info, advanced sensor range and seismic sensor are all good choices for snipers. I myself don't use advanced zoom or advanced sensor range for sniping as I prefer to pinpoint specific sections on targets in the mid range, which target info is good for, seismic is mostly useful for watching your own back and providing close range support on hills and ridges etc, both of which you'll have to do quite often if you want your team to win.

Advanced Sensor Range seems like a useful addition to Advanced Zoom. I could see Target Decay or info gathering potentially being useful as well.

I use seismic sensor and advanced zoom. Seismic gives you advanced notice of someone sneaking up behind you. Works great at catching lights off guard with an alpha strike to the face. :)
