i'm at 24/26 right now only two orions left, on is on elite and the other one is missing 8.2k XP for fully mastered.

Hardest mechs to master were those 3 quickdraws, that took ages... that damn death can.

Cicadas on the other hand were easy going, i even bought a 3C (as fourth bonuscada) just for fun and dakka and guess what, i never mastered a mech that fast without premium.

Oh and btw, "mastered" means you unlock that module slot, not unlocking those 4 "elite" perks, that would be "elited" :)

A thought that just popped into my head while I was reading some other topic. How many mechs have I actually reached the "master"** rank with in the pilot lab? Well I had to check it out. I currently own 28 mechs (have sold some just recently) and out of those I've reached masters with 23 mechs. Rest are either waiting to max out their elites or singles who have just the basic tier reached due to not having 3 variants.

For example all my 3 hunchies are still stuck at elites, looks like I ran out of interest. And if I recall correctly it happened right when the HSR was added to the game and suddenly my hunchies were taking a bounding from everyone so I stopped playing them. Might finish them one of these days.

Post in how many mechs you own after voting and your 'mastering rate' :). Mine is 82% (23/28).

**The module slot doesn't need to be researched. To clarify further, getting all elite perks and having 2X to your basic perks means you've mastered the mech. The 21.5k module slot doesn't need to be researched.

Zero.
I'm in since almost 2 weeks.
I've played match after match after match after match... till getting bored of the thing already.
I got the 3 Raven variants.
Each one booms off with just 1 alpha strike from a 60+ tons 'Mech.
I'm playing 5 or 6 matches per day now so I'm not so much online... may be 1 hour more or less.
I don't know why though: if and when I'll reach the "mastery", I really don't know if it will be worth the time.
Most likely when I'll finally get it, hopefully some other content will pop up and reveal that all the skill-tree, as it is now, would become useless and inadeguate...
If it is not already.
Same "skills" for every 'mech, no attention to weapons but the "fast reload" thing (mind your heat though you energy players) that sounds more a 'mech-upgrade than a skill...
I would really rather prefear 'Mech ton-class pilot specialization, sensors spec, weapons spec, handling and maneuverability spec, spotting spec, jump jets spec...
Examples:
- Catapult LRM boat: heavy 'Mech spec, LRM spec, spotting spec;
- Raven Sensors: light 'Mech spec, sensors spec, handling and maneuverability spec;
and so on...

3 variant each of the medium mech except Trebuchet, plus 3 Awesome and 3 Stalker.
Total 21 mechs, now considering to revisit the Treb or start on the Quickdraw or Orion.

You bought it, gotta master it, hehe :). I used to think that too but not anymore. Sold my orion for example simply because I didn't like it.

That's a matter of definition. Once you unlock all perks at the elite tier, you move to the master tier which has one unlockable perk. The key point being there that you are already at the master tier. You've reached the master tier with your mech so you can call it "mastered".

I own 34 mechs.

30 have module slot open
3 more are double elited and will be module slot unlocked in less than 2 weeks

The last one is my Founders hunch which since I am not that good at mediums I never bought any more, it has basics done but I probably won't ever touch it again.

That gives me like a 97% mastered rating in regards to this poll.

45 Full bays, 35/36 completely Mastered or fully elited with 3 more elited in the next couple days (then the grind to get the elited to full masters and earn cbills for the next couple that I need to buy. Need 15million for a couple Cents)

Jenner (I have the D(F) and D(S) so that's the reason for 35/36) 3/4
Spider 3
Commando 3
Hunch 3
Cicada 3
Catapult 3
Dragon 3
Jagermech 3
Atlas 3
Stalker 4
Awesome 4

Bold being fully mastered

working on Cataphract now 3

So 77.7/80% at present and 84.4/86.6% by weekend hopefully.

Good light pilots NEVER stand still. Always moving and rarely in a straight line for more than a few seconds if an enemy is withing 1000 meters.Keep at it.

The Pilot tree isn't really about the pilot. The Devs have described it as more "what chip set you could change in your mech to increase its efficiency" Similar to what the street racers do to their cars.

I have mastered: Cicadas (3M, 2A, X-5), Catapults (C1, A1, K2), Spiders (5K, 5D, 5V), Jagermech (DD, S, A, FB), Highlanders (HM, 733P, 733C). For a total of 16. Only mech I've sold was the C4 and that I never elited.

Hmm i take it calmly 1st focusing on chassis i like, and sometimes mastering something different for a change.

In general around 40 mechs more or less plus a couple of heroes.
Used to sell and keep the variants i like but changed my mind few months ago and i keep all chassis i buy fully equiped ( plus some few modules)

P.S: month of holidays in october plus phoenix and premium, let the fever begin!!!

Hi,

I usually go for the master slot or stop right when I have the baiscs for some mech, since you need to go through 3 variants for the mech chassis to be allowed to get elite effeciencies, but to get the master slot you need only 3 mechs in the weight class with master level.

I have mastered 35 Mechs of which 26 have the module slot, from this 9 mechs without module slot I play at the moment 5 to get the slot.

At the moment I own 31 Mechs of which 24 are master + slot (yes, I sold 2 Mechs I played so far), 5 are master and 2 not master (this 7 mechs I play at the moment most of the time).

cheers
jk

Cicada isn't that bad. The 3M is pretty good, anyway, and one of my favorites.

I mastered two Cicadas but had never tried the 3M. Then I tried the 3M and realised it's the best Cicada of all!

To the OP: I have 20 Mechs and have Mastered 19 of them. I tend to Master a chassis and move on to the next. I'm currently doing Kintaros. After that, Phoenix should arrive and keep me busy for quite some time.

A bit surprised that majority seems to have 31+. I assume its because the mechbears visit the forum more.

On this day and age it's quite common ppl owning 2x screens and using 2nd to browse and post while playing.

Also what else you wanna do when got free time at your job? Browse the forums obviously :)

Only 2 Mechs.

I hardly care about mastering Mechs, let alone eliting or basicing Mechs. I really have no reason to, I just play a Mech that I like for a match or 2 and play some other game afterwards. The last reason is, because I have limited time to devote to gaming during the week.
