I signed up for the closed beta about a month ago along with several of my friends at the same time. They have since recieved an invite code, however I have not. Is there a reason why I have not? I if I did not meet the system minimum requirements since I signed up, I jest recently bought and implemented $1,500 in upgrades to my rig. If anyone has any thoughts that could provide some answers for me, I would greatly appreciate it as I am eager to play.

Admission to closed betas are based on the needs/abilities of the developer at the time. It's not so much a sneak peak to get players excited (though it does that, too) as it is a chance for the developers to test the game "in the wild" so to speak.
Unfortunately, there's no guarantee when (or even if) you'll get into the closed beta. We might just have to hope for an open beta soon.

Dude, are you serious? Everyone and their mothers signed up for beta. They only let a few people join through a random lottery. That two people you know got passes is beating the odds by itself, I dont know anyone out of the five friends I know who got one. Remember, its not a chance to play the game early. Its a chance to test stuff, server load, etc.Odds are they have plenty of high spec volunteers and didnt need any more of that grouping.

I love how many are wanting to get in just to play. We will all get our chance to play once the game is released. Trust me on this... I have Beta tested other games in the past and to be honest, i too wanted to get in to a few of those JUST to play and rub it into my friends faces that I GOT TO PLAY BEFORE THEM. And what did that get me? NOTHING. Those games I tested in the past just frustrated me because again... all I wanted to do was get in early and play. But it wasnt like that. The Betas were choppy, some had no sound, some of them were horridly sub par when it came to graphics and then you had ALL THE BUGS. But I wasnt thinking as a tester then and I ended up not wanting to play those games because the crap I had to go through and witness in those Betas was not what I had in mind about the games before hand. So all I can say to those that REALLY only want to get into the Beta to JUST play. Dont even bother as at this point IN ANY BETA... you will be disappointed. So for those that JUST want to play this game, wait for it to get a full working release and then PLAY. But until then, stop crying that you havent gotten in yet and let those that have (whoever they may be) do their duty and make the game a better SOLID game for us all to play later down the line.

Tuff luck. Well over 100,000 of us signed up. According to the devs, the first phase of closed beta will cap out at 10,000 invites, which was reached friday. Supposedly we won't be seeing any further invites until sometime next month, and then those will likely only go to the people who purchase a founders package next week.

The things with a closed beta is, well, it's closed. Unless you're a personal friend or family member of someone on the development team, there is no guarantee you will get in. If you wish to improve your chances for the next closed beta session, buy a Founder's Pack, even if you don't get in you will still have supported one of the best dev teams I've had the pleasure of stalking sharing the internet with.

Guidestone.
First, apologies for some of the snarky comments , getting into beta is a touchy subject around here right now
Currently PGI is inviting beta testers on criteria that only they know. It is presumed that the criteria changes over time, however, even if you and all your friends had matching specs it still would not guarantee that all of you would get it. As there are, of course , only a limited amount of keys going out.
Be happy for your friends, and remind them that being in beta is a priviledge, not a right, so they should follow the NDA and NOT talk about being in beta.
Good luck in the future, hopefully you will get in soon. If not, look into the Founders Package program.
Cheers.
