I'm thinking about getting the Heavy Metal hero mech, but don't want the music clip to play every time I get a kill. Can you toggle it on/off?

You cannot, I'm afraid.

I wish. I would love to get rid of that Elvis music.

Is it considered 'music' or a 'sound effect' by the game engine? If it's the former, you could just turn the music volume all the way down in your settings.

You actually can. There's an Option called Music in the Options Menu.

If this is set all the way to the left, the music clips do not work as there's no volume.

<--Heavy Metal owner.

(Also another random fun fact: "Voice" adjusts the computer voice volume.)

On a random side note: Occurred today.

If I didn't spend most of my time 'going commando' without my team, I would have made a lot more money on savior kills. So picture what I could have done if I stayed with the group instead of off on my own to pick off enemies one at a time.

Derp. For so long without a soundtrack I assumed the 'Music' slider was a placeholder and nothing more. Every day's a school day!

Koniving, out of curiosity, do you only use that AC/2 at close range, since it's grouped with your LB10X?

500 meters and less usually. I try not to be out in the open beyond those distances, and I always like to flank from the side or behind and target isolated mechs, then move on to the next.

Actually if you're interested, the battlegrid vid I recorded for Lux is going to be uploaded in the morning. During it I play with the Heavy Metal and score another 1,000+ match.

I think Koniving has done enough for the new players that he can use a thread with an already answered question to demonstrate his skills with the 'mech in question.

I love the Heavy Metal's kill music, but not so much the Elvis folk rock riff it plays most of the time. The 2nd riff is much more heavy metal, and thus much more to my liking. I wish there was a way to play that one most of the time.

But I'm not complaining. Kill music of any kind is rad.
