Just a suggestion... to copy the coliseum mode from MW4 Mercs. It would be divided into weight classes - light, medium, etc. or mixed. And of course it would be a last man standing game, as has already been suggested (http://mwomercs.com/...t-man-standing/).

Most mech hardpoints are laid out to carry as dynamic an array of weapons as possible (notably ALL the assault mechs, except one or two Awesome variants). There is little room for those variants in the current game mode, because when you work with a team, you specialize your mech to be most efficient for a specific role, i.e. missile boat or short-range brawler. In a game mode where everyone fights alone, they can make use of current variants.

Losers walk away with the same amount of C-Bills in normal loses, boosted by how many kills/assists they get. Winner - last man standing - gets as much victory money as an entire 12-mech team currently earns collectively.

Without teams (or each player counting as his own team), the number of players can be more flexible, which may make for quicker match making. Also, as each man is on his own, then total weight for a team does not need to be calculate, especially if every match is constrained to a weight class.

An actual coliseum-type map - a small pit with little to no cover - would prevent light mechs from just hiding until the last big mech is standing and then finish him off.

Much less chance of getting a win, but much more incentive to do it. Also, it would not necessarily drown out current game modes because some pilots would get tired of gambling for losses and give up. Anyway I think it would be an excellent and refreshing new game mode and I would play it.
