LB10X will crit like a machine gun. It spreads it's damage all over the target like missiles do, has long range like an AC, easier to hit with. You miss with an AC10, you miss all 10 points. You might not totally miss with the LB10x with the same shot and get partial damage. It also scares the {Scrap} out of inexperienced pilots.

And of course, if you are a crappy shot, it will make your life easier.

This thread is still going...

If anything this thread should be about how OP this weapon is.

Please go right on believing that it is bad. PGI constantly thinks about weapon balance so this thread - totally unnecessary.

i use the lb10-X because its a beast weapon. open a mech up with some lasers then start blasting the lb10-x and watch their mech fall apart.

and if you are a good shot, it will give you some amazing damage games and good amount of kills. the trick is dont bother with the lb10x outside of 400m. the lost ammo is not worth the damage outside of roughly 400m(yes i know the weapon lists 600m long)

And guess what, use an AC/10 and you destroy a Mech's armor and Internals with pin-point damage = better. Even better range.

Fact: The LB10-X is still the worst functioning LB-X of any Mech Warrior game, period. Hence why I will never use it since I have already experienced the better LB-X guns of other games where those Developers knew exactly how to make it good.

The only reason to use it in this game is purely if one can not aim. I've legged Light Mechs with ease with regular Autocannons pin-point damage - so by anecdote they are better at out right destroying a Mech.

shake should be dependent on the amount of shells hitting a target

I second that. Take a look at the stats from MW4: Mercenaries:
Name: AC/10
Range: 600 meters
Damage: 9
Heat: 0,60
Recycle rate: 3
Weight: 13 tons
Ammo per ton: 36
Cost: 319'845 C-Bills

Name: LBX AC 10
Range: 450 meters
Damage: 14
Heat: 1
Recycle rate: 4
Size: 2
Weight: 12 tons
Ammo per ton: 36
Cost: 467'694 C-Bills

The funny thing about MW4 is that the LBX was a pinpoint weapon. It looked like a stream of bullets but it could only hit one location. (same as lasers - they beam had a duration but the damage was instant).
So it was 14 damage every 4 seconds (LBX) vs 9 damage every 3 seconds (AC10) to a single component. The drawback was the shorter range. It was a ideal weapon for coring the enemies. Needles to say, people took 2xClanLBX20 because they could place each and every shot on the center torso of en enemy mech, no matter it's size.

In MWO, the potential damage and DPS of an AC10 and LBX10 are equal, while the LBX spreads damage to multiple components.
