Crashed to Desktop? Fatal Error? Frozen? Let us know what happened here!

Please attempt to respond to the following questions in your responses:

• Was any error message provided with the crash, if so, which?
  
• Where in the game or menus did the crash occur?
  
• What steps had been taken prior to the crash occurring?
  
• Does the crash re-occur for you if repeating those same steps?
  
• What are your video settings, did you change them since last patch?
  
• What are your System specs? (You can include them in a [spoiler] [ /spoiler]

In some cases we've seen that deleting the shaders folder and relaunching the game will solve these crashes and related issues.

Simply delete the shaders folder located here by default:
C:\Games\Piranha Games\MechWarrior Online\USER\Shaders

I get a error message of "FRead did not read expected number of byte from file, only 128 of 0 bytes read"
after a period of time entering the game loading screen. Deleted Shaders and using repair tool now.

EDIT: Whoa! The tool worked! GG guys. off to kill some mechs

freezing issue is still present.

- game freezes with no error message (often when turning the torso using mouse or randomly any time in the match)
- sound loops still play like the cockpit hum and mechanical sound of torso twist
- only way to get out is to kill the process
- i play on low settings
- core2duo 2.8ghz / Ati 4650 1GB / 6GB ram

last patch no freezing issues (had freezes with the patches before that) today's patch I had a freeze first match before the match started, ctrl alt del and started game again had no problems for three matches on fourth match froze mid match.

Medium settings
no changes to settings

Windows 7 Professional 64 bit
AMD Phenom II 3.20 GHz
4.00 GB RAM
ATI Radeon HD 5670

Never get an error, game just freezes at the start of matches, during matches, and at the end of matches. This has been steady since last patch. This should have been fixed BEFORE you decided to Launch, you know, like a hot fix that 99% of other game companies do.

Game freezes. the screen just stops responding as if i am looking at a still image. If i alt-tab out th game crashes competely and goes to black screen. Then i Must ctrl-alt-delete an kill the task on it.

This patch has bean really unstable for me in about 5 drops i crashed 3 times or more.

No error code or anything is reported.

Video setting are all on ultra with motion blur off. No Change this patch.

I run a Nvidia GTX 480
12GB corsair ram
Intel 980x Extreme possessor (6 cores instead of the standard 4 for I7 processors)
Windows 7 Ultimate

Patched. Hit play, game minimizes then disappears completely. Double click shortcut, hit play, game minimizes and disappears. No game what-so-ever.

At least you got to patch I reinstalled everything and still can't even get the patch to work.

Second this. Same thing, low settings, similar build. It always after a torso twist it seems like.

Click on icon to launch, click play (have patched) crash no error. Can not get to login screen. Used repair tool still same issues.

Ok looks like its the AMD bug again! other posters are you using amd?
read spec's above and some ppl are using intel..maybe not a cpu issue. disabled avast still no go

Me freeze up and get always to CTRL+ALT+CANC task manager and close MWOclient. Error similar to upper:

With this patch totally unplayable, after massive FPS drops it freeze up. My rig it's just Dual Core 8400

I decided to try again today, so far no crashes. I'm suprised.
Last week every single mach ended by ctd.. I even tried completely reinstalling to another drive after cleaning registry and rebooting and updating drivers but it didn't help back then. After this patch, only thing I've changed is particle-setting from 'LOW' to 'VERY HIGH' since omicronLog always said compressed particle textures are dangerous.

EDIT: FIXED BY UNINSTALLING AVAST. Something was making it angry. I'd like a fix or a solution that doesn't involve uninstalling avast, if possible.

EDIT 2: Still gave me grief later on, kept getting kicked back to mech bay. I dunno whats up at this point.

Worked fine until tonight. First problem happened in-game while piloting a Raven 3L on T. Desert. Hit a canyon wall and kept teleporting back to the same spot. Figured it was a torrent causing some network lag until problem number 2 started 5 minutes later. Managed to log back into the game but kept getting kicked back to the mech bay (I was in a 4 man group). Decided to run the repair tool, it found a couple of errors, mostly main .exe and .dll files. "Fixed" that, launcher starts normally, but game crashes after pressing start button. Kept getting this message.

ONLY thing that was updated on my computer was Avast. I'm not ruling out the possibility that's the problem since they started a couple of hours after I updated it (they rolled out one software patch today and one yesterday). Hardware assisted virtualization is disabled.

Running an AMD 6870, drivers fully updated. Game worked fine until around 2200 GMT+1, give or take.

WTF should be this, it was perfectly stable before this ****** update

Now, since today I can play only 1 match from 4 . . Just press launch . .loading, nothing and then takes me back to mainscreen and my selected mech is still in game I cannot press ctr + alt + del, it takes me beck automaticly

Then I ll try another mech and one time I am connected to match or again black screen and nothing Its looks like based on pure luck. Like I saying 1 from 5 launch is succesfull.

And I almost forgot, before this issues I was once kicked from lobby and got a message " network error occured "

I ll try it few times and again same, I restrted router, comp etc . . But I think problem is somwhere else.

Same thing here. Still image, completely frozen. Has happened 4 times since patch.

No error messages or crash dumps. Program still thinks its running in task manger (doesn't say not responding).

No changes to my settings, everything on max. Cleared cache and repair tool.

It was happening before this patch (there have been threads about this for a few months now) but seems to be greatly increased this patch in particular. About one in ten matches since patching.

I have this excact same problem from a fresh install.
