**WIP!** Any thoughts / comments / improvements are welcome!

Hardcore mode:
First-person View ONLY
Separate Mech-Stable, and inventory
C-bills and MC shared between Casual and Hardcore
XP & Pilot Skills/boxes applied universally

Pilots can use Rentals:
Rentals can be added to the players' Stable (4 free 'Mech bays, additional are purchasable per current)
Add option1) allow choice of only 4 weekly rental 'Mechs, per current
Add option2) allow choice of all C-Bill-only variants
Only 1 each of any Rental 'Mech variant can exist at a time in the Player's Stable
Rentals are repaired at no burden to the player
Rentals are retained until destroyed or removed by the player.
Prior-Week Rental 'Mechs destroyed in battle are removed from the player's Stable; can be re-added once again when they become available as a 'Weekly Rental'
** Note - When Weekly Rental 'Mechs or if "all" are available, they can be removed and re-added as desired .

Pilots can use Owned mechs:
Can purchase 'Mechs with MC or C-bills per current
Can purchase equipment with C-bills per current
Mech-chassis can be acquired through salvage
Equipment can be acquired through salvage
** Note - Modules and cockpit "fluff" are not considerable for salvage and are retained by the owner(?)
Mixed-tech allowed

'Mech used in combat become flagged for repair & rearm (duration based on condition, OR, to pre-determined length: 15/30/60min)
'Mech repaired by player choice: first by skill (if possible to implement), next Salvage, lastly C-bills
Rewards (Cbills, XP) rewarded as normal
Team-size allowable from 2 through 12
Players can drop solo
Match-sizes available from 1v1 through 1v12
Auto-match-making balanced via BV: Tonnage * Elo (or by a working mechanism)

Player win:
May decline to collect salvage; if declined, awarded with C-bill equivalency instead
Salvage calculated based on equipment remaining by the end of the match (per current?)
Salvage divided (randomly or by ?) amongst players (winning team only)
** Note - 'Mech Chassis and Equipment salvaged in this manner becomes "Owned"; If the player does not have an available 'Mech Bay for a new Owned chassis, they may remove an existing 'Mech - or - can elect to purchase a new 'Mech Bay and immediately stable it. The player can "defer" acquisition until such time that that they have sufficient MC/funds to purchase a new 'Mech Bay, or forfeit it by their next drop.

Player loss:
Owned 'Mech (if destroyed) becomes eligible as salvage to the winning side and if collected, is removed from the player's 'Mech Stable
Rental 'Mech (if destroyed) available as salvage to the winning side

Player tie:
No salvage (per current?)

Fairness:
Definition of "Destroyed" - Engine destruction via criticals, Gyro destruction(?), Cockpit destruction, Pilot killed (if implemented); Units removed from combat via 2 leg destruction is NOT available for salvage(for fairness?)

Wait you are from Los Santos! er Los Angeles.

Interesting idea, I'm not sure how it could be integrated into the current game.

As a negative it is not very forgiving for less skilled players. Seems kind of "Get better or don't play this mode" But I think there are those that would welcome it. You'd have to have some serious balancing setup for this mode type.

That's kind of it, though. Having just "First Person Only" is laughably far from "hardcore"; Anything less than this really isn't.

The main idea, is that everything would remain as-is for the current Casual mode. Hardcore, players can use Rentals if they're worried about the possibility of losing their Owned 'Mechs. While there is that definite risk, it's also somewhat easy-come easy-go... the chance that one could "win" a chassis with little risk - while using Rentals.

Once Lobbies are enabled, 1v1 would support Solaris VII-type engagements, if not the total framework for it (1v1 through 1v12, team or deathmatch).

In League of Legends, people feel that it is worth it to troll games when all they can ever accomplish is causing people to lose a few points of Elo. They do this knowing full well that they will lose their account over it.

How would trolls feel if they had a way to ensure that the people they dropped with would actually lose their mechs?

I think this kind of game-mode would be like candy to trolls, and the more popular the game gets, the worse the problem would become. A possible solution would be to make it Pay-only, but then how many people would actually use it?
