I like how they keep stressing that CW will have all sorts of interaction with the economy. As if there is one. WIth R&R snuffed out there is no longer any need to maintain things. Once you buy your mech/tech its yours and you can't lose it (or need to repair it). In my opinion R&R needs to be looked at again. I don't see how they can give any real incentives to control areas or gain loyalty to get cheaper prices if we don't need to buy anything once we make the initial purchase.

I know alot of the gripes about R&R's first go around and I agreed with them. Hell, I perprtuated the problem running my fatlas and just spamming the free 75% lrms. There would have been an easy fix for that though: don't let people launch in damaged mechs or without filling up on ammo. Next argument would be that it is an unnecessary "tax" on people playing. I don't agree with this being the case.

It is supposed to be a balancing factor. Everyone whines about how every mech should be equal and then how everyone only takes assaults/heavies. However there is nothing to naturally spread the distribution. R&R can easily do that. If people want to run assaults all the time, go ahead. Just be sure you make good use of all your firepower because you will need to make up for a bit of a bigger repair bill. Things would be normalized across the weight classes. Lights might do less damage, but have less repair, assaults and heavies earn more but repair more. Everyone makes about the same. You don't even need to throw repairing modules or equipment in, but I still think it could be a viable balance option.

Am I alone in thinking this is still a pretty obvious option for balancing?

It took them two years to come up with a half-assed PowerPoint for Community Warfare .

Can't wait for the next iteration of Community Warfare in another three years: the half-assed flowchart.

Is that before or after the chalkboard illustration?

Also, for anyone getting all excited, this is almost exactly what the founders were told, over a year and a half ago. This is the same stuff they were telling us in the original dev blogs....

Yeah, I'm not buying 6 months either.
