Happening: Nothing. Really.

Names for Atlas: Bobby, Ralph, Tom

More money: Premium (+50% match income) and Hero 'Mechs (+15-30% match income)

You should be truely ashamed of being so unhelpful. I mean really "Bobby, Ralph...TOM?" Come on, man. Grow up.

The best names for an atlas are obviously as follows: Derrek, Jimmy, or Todd

On a more serious note, the way to get money is to kit out a single mech that you can do well consistently with; even if you pay for premium time or have a hero mech, 150% of peanuts is still peanuts. Naturally the problem is finding which mech will satisfy this, so if you haven't played with many I'd go for the trial that you seem to do the best with (since they're champion versions as of this writing, they actually will reflect a playstyle more inline with the current meta) or a chassis that you can build out similar to the trial one. E.g., if you like the SRMs of the Centurion, you may have similar luck with a Kintaro.

I named my Atlas-DDC Gen. LEE. It is appropriate (named back at start)

Make money?
Hero mechs. Cbill bonus never runs out but you run the risk of buying a mech you don't like.

sorry. too vague. "an update on what has been happening and stuff . . . and how to get more money". Looks like a potential troll. Seriously? Can you be a little more vague?

You forgot that Premium Time awards also 50% more EXP;
Hero mechs give only 30% more cbills (no exp)
Champion mechs give only 10% exp bonus (no cbills).

In short, if you plan to play a lot and have to level one or more chassis, go for some Premium Time

If you don't play on a regular basis but you'd like to invest real money then pick up a good hero mech (Ilya, Heavy Metal, Misery, Dragon Slayer, Firebrand, eventually YLW - stay away from the rest xD)

If you don't either of the two above just play, you'll need to spend some MCs once you run short of mechbays, mechbays aren't so expensive :D

I had hoped to derail this threat into a trollfest. (Un)luckily, people still take posts like this serious. Also, I did technically answer all his questions.
