Week in release and the so called weight limit match marker is a fail, sad when there is 5 100 ton mechs in one match. Where is this so called Balance in weight , premades are getting away with 4 100 ton mech- how is that balanced?

yesterday, I was in a match where my team had zero assaults and the other team had three atlases.
We still won but I think that was more due to new players in those Atlases than anything else.
Nice job MM... :D

I was fortunate enough to be able to talk to Bryan Ekman 2 hours before the launch event waiting in line. One thing he discussed with me with a small group is that Weight restrictions are coming for 4 man and pugs.

So weight restriction is coming... SOON

Since its 12 vs 12 and there are 4 weight classes of mechs, they should just give each team 3 slots of each weight to fill. So each team would be 3 lights, 3 mediums, 3 heavies, and 3 assaults. Of course not every chassis is equivalent in ability, so some imbalance could occur (such as 3 awesomes on one team against 3 atlai on the other) but it would be closer than what occasionally happens now.

For that to work outside of the full 12 man premades you would have to force everyone to select a mech from each class and then have the game pick which one they actually drop in. Otherwise you could end up with long wait times or a bunch of failed to find matches unless the entire community just happens to drop in perfect balance of classes. I would be ok with that and have suggested it before but just saying that you would need to add that in for it to work. And I think just trying to get closer tonnage matching would be easier and more accepted.

still this game needs more than a weight limit to stop ppl picking assaults
they will too but just split up and hope to be drawn into the same match
there need to be too hardlimits like you said but far more restrictiv
then 3 3 3 3 more like 2 Assaults 3 heavy rest meds lights
and if they do that they need to promote to play lights meds over
the other chassis by giving them like more cbills to stop that
money grind in assaults and heavys wich iam always seeing
a while after launch its always cool to have a 12 man of teched out
mechs vs 12 that not even have basics researched and lvling there mechs

What do pre-mades have to do with 100 ton mechs? Other players don't pilot assault mechs? Oh and you liked your own post... :)

what mech ppl you pick when farming, what constelation of players mostly farm guess who?
Premades and all assaults or mostly heavy assult

Funny every time I play nearly 3/4ths of the players are in a heavy or assault regardless of them being in a PUG or Premade....

So they are sticking with keeping stuck with 4 man groups? Too bad.

I dont think a wieght RESTRICTION is a good idea. Matchmaking based on weight values is however, and will make alot of games alot more fair. There are alot of competitive players (like myself) who play matches with weight restrictions imposed by the teams, and adding in one into the game that will force the teams/leagues to readjust the whole thing might make a mess.
