Victor Engine Advice

Currently I'm saving up for an XL engine to put in it, but I'm not entirely sure which one I want/need. My vision for this 'mech is for it to be mobile enough to chase down weakened 'mechs or ones that can't outduel me in medium to close quarter combat, and have enough armor to stand with the biggest of 'mechs. I was also hoping to replace the two ML's with something with a bit more punch to it, so my alphas sting a lot more, but it's kind of hard to test out how my heat would be with that without actually having the engine itself to free up that room.
Suggestions?

I've spent a total of 63 hours in this particular variant of the Victor. Its served me well. Good speed and maneuverability to get you to the fight and give the enemy a rather hard punch to the....face.

In terms of this build, if you have artemis already, then drop all SRM's to 4 shot, drop a ton of AC20 ammo (28 shots should last a game), and change the ammo locations up-abit...
VTR-9S Updated
Is the result, I find ASRM4's are some of the most tightly packed SRM bundles to use in a close range brawler for pinpoint damage. The AC20 ammo was a touch overkill, but that's play style... you could further update the build with dropping the 3rd ton of SRM ammo for a 2nd jumpjet. Personally I run normal SRM4's and use a 2nd jumpjet with an AMS system.

VTR-9S
Istead of 2 Ac5s I use an LBX10 and will be adding BAP for counter-ecm lights, thinking of the LPL for the hard punch and easier aiming vs fast movers. I need to get the 6 mil for that engine.

Err... Was the idea of the Case to waste 1 ton of weight? Because with the XL engine it is a complete waste... This Adjusted VTR-9S would probably be a better way to set it up sans CASE.

.5 of a ton. Has given me an extra few seconds of life.
Never put ammo in the arms.

2x.5=1 & Case does nothing with an XL. On an ammo explosion with case it destroys the side torso completely and does not transfer the damage to the CT. However 3 destroyed engine locations kills you and IS XL engines have 3 engine slots in both sides.
And I put it in the arms because frankly I'd shoot you in the side torso to drop the XL engine and since that is the only other place you could put them.. I'd have a high chance of blowing up the last ammo. I usually wouldn't put ammo in the arm, but I rarely lose an arm unless I'm using them as shields... So lower chance to get hit there than the juicy side torso. Also farther away to reduce damage to other locations should they explode. High ammo builds always have issues of what to do with that excess ammo, but I'd rather not loose a match from having it in my torsos.
