I see a lot of champions for "depends on play style" and "high positioned arms". I can't quite believe the "depends on play style" champions that they are right in practice (even if the theory sounds nice) if the high positioned arms have so much more fans than the the articulated arms.

At least for now I have to believe that at least running a build that uses high postioned arms is better. Maybe there are roles / play styles that work better with the articulated arms, but they seem to be a minority.

For close range brawlers? Articulation is vital. Being able to place your shots exactly in the swirl of melee is important. For long range or support mechs? High mounted arms are extremely important.

Almost invariably higher mounted weapons are better.

I prefer a flexible torso over any arm mounted weapons. Also fixed arms have good symmetry with torso weapons as well. Catapult-K2 is a good example of that and if the pitch wasn't so limited on that I would probably mount all primary weapons in the torso.

Tho I can understand the use of articulated arms with the combination of duration based weapons such as lasers and light ballistics. The Heavy Metal's energy and ballistic arm is a very good example of that.
