Has anyone else noticed that the "collar" around the Onion's neck is a shot trap, allowing the CT to be hit from a huge angle, even from slightly behind the mech?
It makes the Onion feel like a fragile flower.
I call them Onions, because as it gets peeled, you weep.

pgi is great at hitboxes.... yes 90% of mechs have horrible hitboxes or are sized wrong. welcome to balance 101 problem of pgi and they igone it.

So I take it you have noticed the particular issue with the Onion.

nope. just their general habit of making mechs. would not doubt it is part of the ct. been playing since 1st wave of CB invites. most of their hitboxes are {Scrap} and not let the mechs live long.

Sold it at this point. I'm out about 20 mil including researching any possible competitive builds. - only 20 mil because I got back about 2 mil for the chassis.
Don't waste your money.

I've scrapped the idea of mastering any variant of them because we're already full of support mechs that do that role better, due the huge CT. This thing should have been a good brawler in the kerensky's name but it will never be.
I hope they'll rework the hitboxes as they did with the Kintaro, but even after that I don't see much use of the thing from a competitive pov; low-mounted weapons lead to expose basically the whole mech to gather a shot and when weight limits will kick in, Cataphracts will be fairly better (they already are) imho.

Ive been leveling through my Orion and Im shelving it until they fix things. This mech, with max armor is just too fragile. On top, ive seen too many oddities to not call it buggy. In my last fight a Stalker sprayed me front on with lasers and I took damage somehow to CT, LT, RT, and rear LT and RT. It's borked.

With those hardpoints, no JJs, and low slung arms this mechs only option was heavy brawler. But of course that CT instantly ruins that option. There is no role for this mech.
