I think pulse lasers should work like MW:LLs X-pulse lasers.
Firing a quick succession of extremely short timed beams for as long as you hold down the trigger. "pewpewpewpewpewpew"

Pulse lasers. How should they work?

I'm really concerned about this. I started a thread about this same topic a couple weeks ago.
I fell in love with pulse lasers in mw2 but they generated way to much heat in that game.
In the TT game they fire a 3 shot burst in a spray to improve accuracy.
The maximum tech book had a rule that you could lose the -2 modifier and fire all 3 bolts at a target doing up to triple damage. So, each bolt does full damage but has a higher rate of fire.
This kind of makes me like the shotgun idea. But with a visual similar to the mw2 pulse lasers
And for the record... I think mw3 pulse lasers where the worse. Awful!

hmm. its been a while. but I just thought of something. When fired, why not 3 "round" bursts of damage that does a total damage that equals 20% more than standard lasers, generates the same heat, and recycles at about 80% of the normal recycle time of standard lasers? the bursts having a 0.1 second time delay between each burst of the shot? heat generated would be equal, maybe 10% higher than standard lasers of equivalent strength?

MW3 and MW4 had it wrong. It is neither a continuous stream nor "laser bullets".
I like how MWLL had it. Basically a 5-round burst of beam lasers in quick succession.

They should be like MWLL, but with the additional stipulation of MW3 where you can fire them as short or as long as you like (until you reach the max length and then they go on cooldown). The ability to start and stop the beam as you please would reflect the additional accuracy of the TT, because you would only fire when you were confident you would hit, whereas normal lasers continue to fire until their duration is over and you can not stop them.

Necro!
Pulse lasers are not even in yet, but the Dev's do have plans and have stated how they will work in the past.

hmmm I've loved the MW3 Pulse like I've seen others have too, so why fix something that ain't broken. In the sense that if pulse lasers look that way, why would you want to change it's apperence?
Also, I find that contary to many ppl, Pulse lasers were always great. They deliver the most DPS while normal lasers have **** DPS and balance out by doing brute damage in one shot. The developers should stay true to the games and keep this aspect alive. It would be disappointing imho if they would change it to shotgun-lasers instead (no offense to the guy that posted this, but I really don't think it's a good concept)

A mix between MW3 and MWLL.
A laser blinks on and off and continues to do so as long as you hold the trigger.
