Trial Mechs should be Great Builds all the time. Playing the champion mechs during this trial period has been very enjoyable since the mechs are competetive. I think it helps new players enjoy their experience and compete against the powered-pimped up mechs and pilot tree jockeys. wanting to spread the love of this game and balanced play

I do think the Champion Mechs we have as Trials right now are better than the run-of-the-mill regular variants usually displayed. Whether or not they should always be Champions, I don't know. They don't have enough champions right now to really do any sort of rotation.

They need a second light champion and a second assault champion. They already have the Cent Champion and Catapult Champion hidden away... and that's it.

The fact that the new trial mechs ALL have double heat sinks seems to clearly indicate that you basically CANNOT play this game with normal heat sinks as it has been implemented.

"Fire twice, shut down, and get blasted to pieces" is not an exciting introduction to a new game - it is a fast way to ragequit and uninstall - and lose out on any and all money that player might have spent.

Or maybe even separate queues for the new players

All they get is "slightly lower than normal ELO", ready to be thrown to the wolves after 25 matches.... except they are already being eaten alive in the first 25 matches.

Tehehe, this is also why PGI only puts doubles on their Hero Mechs, except for the select few during the beginning of the "hero mech" phase when they wanted more "traditional" or closer to stock Mechs like the Yen Lo Waaaang. Heatsinks are messed up yo. 10SHS heat neutral with 2 ML? NOPE, lol.

Noticed alot more champs in matches of late, cost me more than one game when I'm in a team with a lance of rookies doing nothing useful.

New players should not start with an elo high enough to join games with vets, all your doing is punishing the vets.

This is only partly true. You can play this game with normal heatsinks. Or lets say you could, if you would only play against players with single heatsinks.
What really screws new players is the fact that DHS are a straight upgrade to SHS. They are simply better on all mechs (ignoring some joke builds utilizing the higher heat capacity of a mech stuffed with SHS).
Playing with SHS would be fine if everyone had to do it. During closed beta there were no double heatsinks and it still worked.

What we really need is a trailmech only queue. SHS are fine as long as you don't have to fight against someone who already did the mandatory upgrade to DHS.
