I think I know the answer but I thought I'd ask anyway since there's nothing to lose by asking, right? Right, so, I'm hoping to get answers from other mwo video creators. Are there any other places (than this forum) to post the link to your video to get views? I'm not aware of any fan sites for mwo, and quickly scanning the "fansite forum" revealed that I may be right. So when you guys make a video, where do you post it to get views? Because obviously if you leave it only for youtube search then you will get 2 views a year (and one of them is yours when you check that the video is not broken) :P.

/ranting below (skip if you want)
I'm somewhat discouraged by the low amounts of views mwo videos get. And I'm not convinced its because of the lack of interest from mwo community. Back in the day (like 6-12 months ago), when I could post my video in the general discussion forum, I'd get 300 views in half an hour, and if people liked the video and commented then you were quickly on your way towards 1000 views. Current situation is that gen disc is gone and this forum cave is only place to post. It's impossible to get big views here as the forum is buried so down that only few active members bother to come this down so you can forget about catching any new eyes for your videos. You seem to get average 50 views down here which is pretty discouraging, atleast for me. I don't make the videos for my own private collection, I make them for others to watch and enjoy. I've contacted Niko to suggest him to move the video forum up in hopes that there it will be more viewed but I only got deadly silence in return (yes he read my pm, you can see it on the side). I don't know what else to do. I'm very unmotivated to continue producing fan content for mwo when it feels like pgi don't give a **** about fan content, atleast they aren't doing anything to promote it even a little like putting the forum in a place where it can be seen. Sad panda signing out :o

For myself, it's mostly getting Clan mates to subscribe and watch... some of my video's went viral from the search function (notably my Victor & HGN vid's). Otherwise I tend to post video's here, and on 2 other forums now for my mates because you can always learn something new.

My video's with the biggest views though are ones that I dropped the video into a relevant discussion in the more populated parts of these forums, other then that the only way my video's (when I was putting them onto ARMD's tube) was if PGI posted it to their facebook as a community spotlight.

I wish there was a way to get more views, but I do video's for the fun, people like watching some of my stuff so I continue to do it.

Well, I don't believe there is much in the way of other sites to promote your material. As Apostal said a large part can be a matter of self advertising, find a relevant thread.. don't go crazy with link spam, we all want people to enjoy the many, many hours that are put into video productions, but be tasteful about self promotion. (No thread hijacking or multiple posts) I would suggest doing all the normal stuff, make a FB, twitter, google+, etc and just keep at it. After 4+ months of MWO video production I'm finally starting to gain some traction, and if the viewers enjoy your material enough then eventually it will spread...

Ya know, the ole' If you build it they will come... Well, it ain't quite that easy, but if you put enough time, effort, heart and soul into it then the right people will notice it and share it. Even NGNG who get lots of promotion from PGI only racks up around 4k views/vid and I think part of that is the size of the community and the limited nature of the content as primarily drop videos and how-to's. Also keep in mind that NGNG has been at this for over a year now, its just a hard game to play in. If your passion is there then you will power through the slow times and keep putting yourself out there and improving quality as you learn/grow.

Best of luck!

Oh, and get out there and support other video producers! You don't have to subscribe, but offer encouraging words and offer support, who knows they might find your vids for the first time and cross-promote. I'll be searching for some of your stuff after this post ;)

You could always try Times square or one of the bigger squares in Moscow (I think one technician of one of those giant LED displays gained loads of exposure... and probably immortality... by mistakenly playing a **** video (some men and women intimately enjoying biology) over the display he was servicing a few years back).

Thanks for the comments. The situation is about as I thought. But today I stumbled upon something called "reddit". There seems to be people there :D (seriously I haven't used reddit before, lol)

Biggest thing is cross promotion, anything you can do to get your name out there. make a good product, have an angle, and don't skip steps. I am still admittedly new to this myself, however i am a web developer by trade and SEO optimization works for this as well. There is a lot of work associated with a good stream/channel i spend most of it working on my videos, stream, graphics, SEO, and promotions than i do actually playing.
I keep on going through the motions because i love this game. I want it to succeed, and i want it to become an eSport along the same league as Starcraft 2. There is a lot of work to be done before it can compete there. but my part in this is to gather interest for this game, because i want to be a part of it when it gets there.

if you want to cross promote and help each other out give me a shout.
