I've been having a blast at speed with great damage and heat. Not for everyone but works for me.

DRAGON SLAYER
This is what I eventually came to.
The normal PPC and LLs provide a nice mid range strike, while still working close up.
The LBX10 provides that nice close up punch, after you've taken some armor off.
Dissapates heat pretty fast, if your heat starts going critical, just keep using the LBX.
It has a much faster firing rate than the energy weapons, and a nice enough kick in the pants to provide constant damage.
1xJJ for movement purposes.
360XL because it hits the 80kph mark, which is a decent enough speed to me.
