The issue I care the most about is...

  1. HSR/Hitreg issues. Still can't hit what I shoot consistently. (64 votes [25.10%])

  2. ELO/Matchmaker/Weight Balancing: Teams are still uneven and not fun. (31 votes [12.16%])

For all those who remember, I put up a straw poll a few months ago to get an idea of which issues in MWO bothered them the most.

Now, a few months down the road, it would be interesting to see if the game has made any progress at all, or if we're going to get the same results we got back then.

So here's part II. Feel free to leave feedback/comments below.

You missed my 2 biggest issues:

Lack of competitive support.

Lack of proper Role Warfare or class balancing to bring Lights and Mediums to the relevance of Heavies and Assaults.

The lack of content for Lights is my #3, so you almost got that one.

Kinda hard to have competitive support when the game doesn't even work right. Imagine trying to play CS competitively if shots had no effect at random.

And as for Role Warfare/Class balancing, I'd simply put that under weapon/mechanic balance. But when we have laughable stopgap measures like increasing SRM damage because SRMs don't work right atm, then that's asking a bit too much I'd say.

Community warfare goes hand in hand with lack of content, to me.

Also, you missed the Clan invasion. I want my clans gorramit (maybe even dagnabit). These inner sphere barbarians know nothing of honor.

I was torn between

TBH my first impulse was to go with the former, but now that I think about it... what's so great about just going back to the good old days?

As it is, there is no way that they're going to repeal any of the changes that bother me*, let alone all of them. And if by some miracle they did, so what? Back to square 1. Ho hum.

Fun, sure... for a while...

On the other hand, the OTHER option is chock full of things that will not be implemented within a reasonable timeframe (if at all), either for practical reasons (manpower needed to make things like vehicles, turrets, battle armor, work properly) or sperglord grognard timeline reasons (Rotary Autocannons, Blue Shields, Shoot-and-sit Narc pods, Swarm LRMs, Thunder LRMs, Haywire pods,) or they're in the pipeline but not slated for the near future, and so remain tantalizingly out of reach.

And then there are the dream items, like Swords, Axes, melee in general, and the Thunderbolt 20 missile, which would cause so many n00b tears that the MW:O servers would short out and they'd need to call in specialists to clear their building(s) of fungus.


*The heat scaling, the gauss nerf, ... hell pretty much every nerf aside from the ECM nerf. Some of those things DID need to be nerfed, sure... but in different ways. *edit* In fact, now that I think about it, that applies to ECM as well. It's just that while those things got nerfed in ways that made them weaker than they should be, ECM didn't get nerfed thoroughly enough *edit*

Seismic could have been nerfed by doing more or less what whats-his-face suggested (movement/firing related changes), not by doing those IN ADDITION to giving the module a severe case of presbycusis.

I voted hit reg, but if I could I would vote for mechanics too, especially for ECM and LRMs. LRMs are so bugged and lame when not heavily boated that I can't play my founder Cat nor my Trebuchet. Fix LRMs PGI plz...

torn between HSR and Weapons balancing but considering balancing seems to kinda work in play although it's through the most contrived means in gaming history i settles for "damn that cicada i lit it like a christmas tree why isn't my reticle red -aims into air pocket ahead of running man- ahh there you go DIE!"

Armour: Lack of proper armour balancing to bring mediums, heavies and assaults up to the equal of lights.

Weapons: AC dps is too high. Laser heat is too high (the fault of the heat system, not lasers). LRM's damage is too low for a weapon that spreads damage, and having to keep the lock for the whole flight time is just ridiculous. All weapon ranges need increased by (50%?) to help small lasers and pulses.

What, you want how lights have a massive defense buff over TT values explained again so you can pretend it doesn't matter?

Being forced to play on maps that make me want to instantly 'Exit game' :
Terra Therma & Alpine peaks.
I have never played any other game where i hated some in-game maps to the degree i hate these 2 abominations :D

they received the same buff that all the other classes did...2x table top version...they only reason they seem to be OP is because you can't hit them. try aiming a bit and you will be surprised how quickly they die.

Well, while everything is a big problem with lack of content being my top and weapon balance being pretty low too. None of that is what kept me from playing. The cbill nerf made the game unplayable, and now with the pre round screen they're lowering the cbills per hour even further. I don't want to play the game because I'm pointlessly grinding for hours and hours for nothing.

Think results seem to be showing that hitreg issues have improved for some people so its no longer their biggest concern. It is however still the biggest concern for now.

Interesting whether balance and cbills have become bigger issues, or if that's just a result of hitreg improving somewhat.

The grind is the issue that bothers me the most currently. I've reached the point where I'm bored of all my current mechs and am still millions away from something new.
