Everyone knows that moment when the last proper guy on your friend list messages back he's already in a full group, only to come to the realization you have to start a dreaded solo, or pug session to get that last 2k xp to finish mastering the worst variant of your current FTOM chassis.

I've come up with an illustrated walk-through to ease your pain in these situations.

Since you get a lot more xp for winning, this is what we're aiming for. Let us start.

As any good warrior will tell you, 50% of the match is decided before the fight. You'll want to claim command as fast as possible, and get that star next to your name, making your words, thus orders more impactful. Leadership is also good for arranging lances, this is very important, more on it later. For now, put yourself in alpha lance at the start because you won't have time after.

Things will pick up now, its advised to bring a faster mech, as the heard mentality will render your attempts of giving orders futile once they pick a direction of their own. Be a leader of the pack, figuratively, and literally too.

Now for the grand finalé. There's a thin line between pushing your advantage/being aggressive or going in kill-hungry into one of the last intact dens of the enemy, serving as an unnecessary martyr. Just because you are up 3 or 4, doesn't mean you should throw yourself into the last ~5 of them. You may end up regretting the sacrifice if the enemy turns the match around.

Battlefield awareness! If you are doing good, the enemy will know it too. They will try the wildest things like wasting your time with a game of tag while they set up a proper cap.
If your suspicions tell you there aren't enough delinquents lining up for their mercy shot, you can be Good Guy Pugger and head back yourself, or send any fast movers back. You can thank them later, you just mind getting those alphas in.

Well, now you know why being in alpha lance is important. It is what potentially mentally separates you from all kinds of monkeys, and you'll want that.

Hopefully you've gotten plenty xp, and grown some feathers by the time you're here, if not... well climb up those branches and read the guide again to see what you're missing.

*Disclaimer: The word "bird" and "feather" relate in no way to a certain group of "goons" that frequent this game, in fact following this guide would deem impossible for them, as they have never won a single game.

Nice work OP let me put something into perspective!! first its a great thing they have put a ready button into the game. At the ready point if your a PUG or new-med skilled player please ask who has ever commanded a MWO battle and would they be a commander. If your lucky to find a Vet or two playing in your group which there are many let him/her command the battle then listen and learn what they are saying as in commands. If all goes well and your commander has done his job you will win even without comms like TS3.Running in solo is always a bad idea group up 2+ mechs hitting 1 target is better than you trying to win alone. Hehe, I actually know which track you're talking about Chavette

Of course in a dark afterhours club, it sounded more like "Pick a Side mother..f-ck-r" which actually made sense given the environment

But nope, figure it out after a while Riverside mother..f**k

+2 for reference
