Making Progress! I found out about a function i Photoshop, which wraps your texture arund your image like its a real 3D picture.

Another Update:
I figured out how I want to paint the crab, I decided to go with a Dark Grey - Crab Orange, with some texture elements im adding later on.
For now I'm working on the damage paint, It is hard as hell. I have to remove tiny bits of paint, but only where its logically on a war machine. Then I have to paint a black "border" or "edge" (I dont know how to express the german word in english).
Dont worry, I won't leave the white pieces of texture under the removed paint like this, i will paint them later on.

for the black border/edge if you create an extra layer mimicking the white one, color it black, put it underneath, small offset and slight blur, it will give you the small depth shadow affect you're after in a quick fashion. Or maybe thats how youre doing it allready, if so..as you were and I'll shut up.
