Hi fellow Mech'ers!

I am about to buy a couple of new graphics cards, but am in doubt of the compitability with my system.

My current setup is like this:

Motherboard:
GigaByte X38T-DQ6

CrossFire setup:
Club3D HD4670 2GB (x2)

The CrossFireX in this setup works perfectly with a physical bridge between the cards.

I would like to buy these cards:

Those do not support CrossFire via bridge, but only by software.

My question is: Will those cards still work in a dual-card mode with my setup ?

Yes, it will work!

Please note, that MWO does not support CrossfireX at the moment. There are various fixes around to make it work, but success is not guaranteed.

Thank you for your positive response. :-)

I am aware of MWO's lack of dual-card support, that is one of the reasons i want to have at least one card that is decent.

For other games and applications, i need the CrossFire to work.

Make sure that, for now, you're running the 13.10 beta drivers, which have the Crossfire frame pacing feature in them. Basically, it eliminates microstutter.

As for whether it will work, this isn't SLI. If your motherboard has the slots, it will work. If you're worried about it, however, you can step up to a pair of 7770s, some of which have Crossfire bridge connectors. Depending on how much urgency you feel, you could also wait for the R200 series to come out, however I don't know if there will be much improvement over the 7750 in the R7 250.

Well thank you. I have CrossFireX now with two HD4670 cards. I just wanted a bit more "umfph" in my gaming-rig.

I got CrossFire to work with MWO with the latest beta drivers for these cards, but it had som drawbacks.

Now i have ordered 2 of these guys: http://www.club-3d.c...ition.1422.html

Cant wait till i get them :)

UPDATE:

I got them today and have installed them. I started testing them on "Very high" and the game was just so smooth!

CrossFireX works, sorta. The latest Catalyst supports it for apps and games that doesnt have a profile.

I will check out the BETA drivers later and post an update.
