They said sometime before launch, like way back in March or April. And when it started to become apparent that it was going to take longer, they said so. We knew months in advance not to expect UI 2.0 for launch, because they moved the date. If you want to arbitrarily believe in the timeframe that suits you best, even when that timeframe hasn't been accurate for months, that's your problem.
Besides. They've given a much stronger date this time: around four weeks.

I don't arbitrarily believe in anything, I believe in results. PGI did a very poor job setting expectations for launch, we did not know for months that UI 2.0 would not be in. As far as I am aware, it was confirmed only in ATD 46 that UI 2.0 and CW phase 1 would not be in for launch, see the answer to the second question: http://mwomercs.com/...vs-46-answered/ . This was posted less than two weeks before launch, not months.
Please link the dev post or communication that stated UI would not be in for launch months prior to this.

You're right that we knew it wouldn't be in launch months (or at least month) beforehand, but people are frustrated because "before launch" wasn't the first statement on CW arrival date. We're coming up on, what, 11 months of slip? Meanwhile, they've done a pretty poor job laying out what the holdup is or how progress is going or even so much as an occasional screenshot or two. Maybe this is just me, but in my experience multiple delays separated by almost complete silence is usually a very bad sign. At the very least I don't blame people for disbelieving claims of "soon."

Neither do I. Belief has nothing to do with my post. Accurate representation of the information is my goal.
I personally have faith in the date they gave, if for no other reason than they're a lot more cautious with their dates since the August hatesplosion, but I'm not going to fault people for doubting. Ridiculing people for their emotions about something is kinda silly.

Oh, who am I kidding. They'll say they hate it, no matter what. Take your time, PGI. It doesn't matter when it comes out.

They didn't give a set date. They gave a wishy washy maybe hopefully date which is actually better this way. If they completely f up the launch date of it again (I say if, but really I mean when), they can simply use the excuse that they never actually said when it'd be in, only when we hoped to have it in.

"Soon" has the same meaning in canada as in almost any games company i ever witnessed to produce a game... really nothing special or unique to PGI... if anything, PGI holds up to game developers traditions

I'm not trying to excuse PGI in any way here; but while I was busy doing better things I put on that three hour interview with NGNG that happened a while ago, and Bryan says that the holdup was the game becoming unbearably buggy, and the whole engineering side of PGI getting bogged down in fixing cryengine and their own code from earlier.
So there you go, that's what they were doing. Not sure what exactly it was they fixed or why it took so long, but that's what they were doing. I'm also going to say that while it was nice that he communicated this to us at all, a three-hour long audio interview is going to be listened to by almost no one, which means communication could maybe be a bit better.
