I don't know if this goes here or not. I run around kill some one but i dont get the kill to me. So i think kill steals w/e i have done it myself. But i just noticed after looking like the killing shot on two different mechs the kills going to some one not even in the match. Ever happen before? Name is kinda close to mine. I just started noticing this since the patch yesterday.

Lag? Someone shooting at them from an angle you can't see and/or getting the kill via ammo explosion?

Could be a number of things but most likely it is actually someone else getting the final shot. I have never seen a glitch before for something like this.
Unless there is no one around firing at your target and there are zero lrms on your target then yeah something odd might be going on.

Yeah, would need a screen shot to see if it's someone not in the match. Run the repair tool just in case.
Beyond that, sure it keeps track of kills over assists, but really, there's little difference between which two you get regarding rewards (I think you get more for assists actually).

An assist pays more than a kill, but you cannot get a kill without also collecting at least one component destruction; a kill + component = the same as an assist

I saw this occur twice last night on Tourmaline. Strange player name credited with kill, checked roster and name wasn't there. I didn't think much of it, i.e. stats aren't my cup of tea... just figured a glitch or bug of some kind.

I figured it was a stray shot or a lag shot finally registering but when i didnt see the name in the group today that kinda threw me off. Ill try to get a screen of it, if it happens again. Thanks all.

Holy {Scrap}! I did not know that. I guess it explains why I so often see people bouncing around the battlefield popping off shots at multiple targets, rather than focusing on one to help burn it down. Gets a bit frustrating sometimes, actually.
