Headshot 2 atlases so far. Both of them were Founders D. Does this issue affect only the founders model?

I experienced it too yesterday, yet from the other side.

I did a couple of matches with my founders Atlas (finally getting the XP up ;)) and with the D-DC. In my founders Atlas I was almost beheaded 1-2 times.

Well it wasn't impossible before the patch - but usually it wasnt worth it, unless you where facing something like a cat.

Shame we dont have a patch feed back forum we could post this kind of information in. I bet some screen shots proving it was head shots as well would help bolster the claims.

I have seen AC40 jagers specialized in head shots lately.

I tried this on the training grounds after reading. Couldn't get a single headshot with my double gauss jager. So not sure if the chance of hitting the head is higher, but it certainly still isn't very high.

I'm going to have to step in to defend and insult PGI at the same time.

With the amount of bugs this game how, and judging by how often PGI manages to break things that were already working, a certain percentage of mistakes are always going to happen at a time where it may be conceived as benefitial to PGI.

How many things are currently broken in this game? Raven's legs, Awesome & Kintaro's hitboxes, SRM hit registration, invulnerable Spiders... the list goes on. Now, if PGI had actually fixed NARC when they released the Kintaro, then I would have been suspicious, because the NARC has been broken since it was first released. But PGI, true to their form, left the NARC as broken as ever.

PGI is going the Mojang route when it comes to game development. Call the game Beta, pick some arbitrary date to say the game has launched, and then continue on exactly the same way (as if the game was still in beta).

Basically the "launched" designation has no meaning and is just some line in the sand PGI drew. It really means nothing.

Yeah. I was being sarcastic :D

But Gameplay Balance is now the new General discussion, so no wonder people start topics here related to bugs no matter what. I don't see it as a bad thing tho.

Well I drive a DC and never get headsotted except in those special matches. I urge anyone to go and try it. You need like a 35 degree off angle to do it and then not every time. Head on just won't work. If you all getting popped like that it sure is a bug.

So is it possible that todays hotfix addressed this AS7D head hb issue?

Incoming: October 3rd Hotfix @ 10 AM PDT

Greetings MechWarriors,

Tomorrow (October 3rd) there will be a Hotfix deployed to correct an issue with the End of Round screen not displaying the Salvage Bonus properly. This downtime should only last an hour, making the window 10AM PDT to 11AM PDT.

May the Gauss ever be in your favor.

I'm pretty sure there was no change....

Because I always tried to headshot atlases before and noticed that before the patch....when you try to shoot an atlas on the head, it only works when you shoot the LEFT EYE.

It doesn't work when you shoot the RIGHT EYE or the Nose which have a small cockpit looking window.

After the patch? Same.... dont' believe? Just load up testing ground and check yourself....

Not sure about founders atlas though, can't test that....

S!

Founder's Atlas is affected. Took it out for a spin, hit by LRMs and head was instantly out of armor and yellow structure. I have never experienced that before. Also got head shot in it by other Mechs. So jumped in my Orion and behold, popping Atlas is easy now. Aim for the head and ignore the CT or arms. 18 armor + 15 internal = piece of cake. It was also easier to pop D-DC and Boar's Head by simply shooting in the head. Needless to say there have been some rage quitting Atlas pilots lately. Thanks PGI.

It is only the founders atlas that is affected

Founder's is the most broken but I dusted off my DDC to test it and definitely took more damage, but probably not a broken amount of damage, to the cockpit. Still, they definitely changed all the Atlai hitboxes but the Founder's different geometry is probably to blame for the ridiculousness of their cockpit/coffin.
