I doubt that would be a problem for IS LRMs though. You'd probably miss the building in front of you completely.

this made me lol.

This is a good thread. I think mw3 and mw4 had this. It should definitely be included I think. Though I think the mechs that can, such as the marauder example given, should be able to lift their arms to fire over stuff. That would super cool.

If you played with all the expanded rules from the old Battletech magazines you would find that these were factored into the game as optional rules.

Some of the ones I remember off the top of my head are.

-Javelin had a +1 to pilot skill rolls because of the top heavy nature of the mech. (lead to me calling a lot of heavy chested girls in middle school Javelins.

-Catapult, Locust, Jenners, Cicadas, all had a +2 to Pilot skill rolls on standing attempts due to the lack of arms.

-Marauders AC5 could be fired to the rear because it was on a turret.

-Rifleman, Jagermech and Hatamotos had a -4 to hit vs aircraft due to the type of targeting systems.

-Urbanmech had a additional +1 to partial cover because it was so short.

-Spider had no ejection system if the mech was destroyed by any form that forced a ejection, pilot was killed.

These were some of the several pages of additional rules for individual mechs in game.
