Tabletop Battletech... in college... in the late 80's. (yeah, I'm old)

it was 1985 and there was a table top game with big machines fireing all kinds of weapons. what is not to get hooked on?

At first I played Starsiege. Very good game with huge amount of customization. Then I discovered Earth Siege II, also an excellent game, later I started playing MW4. Super solid game which led me to discover an older game MC2.
Seriously, all mech-based games are epic.
Oh, and I forgot to mention, I played the improved realistic version of Starsiege. I had stereo headphones and when I played this game I wore a gas mask ! It was an exhilirating sensation, made me feel just like I was there in the herc.

A guy in an alley gave me my first tech readout for free, then when i came back for more he charged 20 bucks, i was hooked.
