Have you ever wondered, how come most people have already clicked on "ready" before you can even reach the button 2 seconds in?

Have you ever wondered why the game doesn't automatically start when the timer reaches zero?

Could it be that every player has his own timer and that they aren't synchronized?
Could it be that people not clicking on "ready" simply could mean that their screen hasn't loaded yet?

Seriously, first think, then complain.

No they are lazy or AFK. The white "Not Ready" text occurs after the game asset model has loaded and appeared. Remember there is a previous loading screen before you are in game. That is when the syncing is occurring.

I've seen in multiple matches tonight players that can't be bothered clicking the ready up button, that have no issues taking lance command 20 seconds into the timer and let the timer count to 0 despite everyone asking them to ready up. It's become the ultimate in game trolling tool.

There was one person in a match last night who spent most of the wait time clicking on and off the Company Commander button causing everyone else's client to beep continuously ... until someone else clicked on the button to stop him from doing so.

If there is a game mechanic that allows any sort of interaction with others ... someone comes up with a way to abuse it.

Also tested that if Everyone clicks READY instantly... it still takes 30 of the 60 seconds to start a game...

Go try it out.... no matter what... you will never start before 30 seconds...

Bloody search takes so long, I have my head turned, waiting for the power up sequence. I'm really starting to dislike that button.

I hate the button, but only because it's the second time every match that I forget to ready up. :(

For example:
Just today my timer ran down to "-20" until the game started. That doesn't make any sense if there were a global, synchronized timer.
And in another match, a player was added to a team of 11 players after most people had already clicked "ready".

I've seen the negative countdown timer as well. And about all kinds of trolling you can now do.

Yeah, maybe they could put it in options like arm lock or throttle decay?

Auto-Ready at Match Start

EDIT: Ready for match should be a percentage too. 75%+ readied for match, match goes. I've seen a lot of people abuse the ready/not ready by sitting in not ready chatting to the team. But I think the good players outweigh the trolls as we see 23/24 readied which would exceed the 75% easily.

It's a fail concept when PGI tried to copy readying before a match.

Before they introduce lobbies, this button should not exist.

While I like the auto-ready idea, I disagree with the percentage portion.
Mainly because if the last person to ready is the commander and is organizing the team or giving orders, they may have a reason to be waiting to push the button.
Just my thoughts.

Actually, it's this attitude that causes me to wait to click it to drive FPS twitch monkies crazy. Team game, not Hero with AI game.

Like the OP said, they don't seem to be synced, AND I've noticed that when someone comes in late, the timer resets... sometimes... back to 60 so that person has a chance to click ready and actually be ready to play instead of sitting there for a full minute because something came up IRL.

There is no reason that I should not be able to set a preference to auto-ready once I enter a game. I was 'ready' 5-20 seconds ago when I clicked 'launch'.

Well, if players are not ready when the timer hits 0, they should be dropped from the game. It is absolutely crazy to just drop them in the game, even if they are not "ready".

About people already pressed ready when you joined the lobby... Well, i have an SSD, so i can see people joining in 1 at a time, if you are loading from a singel HDD, you might come in when the lobby is already full and thus, those SSD or RAID guys have already pressed that key.

Geez, people. It's only sixty seconds. There are plenty of games out there with a 'READY' button.

So, the group I was hanging out with last night decided to play some 12man drops. The current UI doesn't let us set up lances before the drop happens. The commander needs to do the following items.

1) Take command of the company
2) Re-arrange the entire company before each match

Then the Lance commanders may take control of their lances.
If at any point the entire group has clicked Ready, the match starts.

Normally, he is also during this time giving out basic instructions on Teamspeak.

Anyone want to guess the average time to do all of that each time? UI2.0 needs to come as fast as possible.

Yes, in pugs it's annoying right now, because in all honesty, you weren't going to work together anyways, it's mostly 12 solo players vs 12 solo players.

I totally forgot to hit the ready button. But only because my 14 month old son decided to do something he thought was amusing with the dvr.

@OP

Why dont you try logging in with some friends from different timezones and prove things instead of assuming and guessing?
