I don't know when they re-adjusted the balance, but have seen a lot of quick drop in matches where the team weight ratios have been completed skewed or if the weight balance (not by category) per team is there its made up by 50% assaults, 50% lights whilst the other team is a mix match of everything upto heavies, with hardly any lights and assaults and really is unbalanced.

The game experience is very dependent upon what ELO bracket you are in...ours may be very different. And it isn't about simply winning or losing...I don't mind losing close games, or even 12-5 games (Lanchester's Laws and all). What is frustrating is 12-0, 12-1, and 12-2 matches which should be highly unlikely if the MM is working as advertised but, in my experience, is fairly regular.

Actually, from my experience and that of others, higher ELO exacerbates the problem as it has problems finding enough in your bracket to balance so it appears the MM will put 1 or 2 higher ELO players and a bunch of low ELO players together against teams of med to high ELO. There is no other way to explain matches that I, and others, regularly experience where we are the highest score of the losing team (by a large margin sometimes). I do not consider myself to be a top tier player at all but I have been the highest score in the *match* on the losing team multiple times. And I am not talking about a capwin. This should be a rare fluke if the MM is working...but, in my case, it's not.
I have a whole collection of end game screenshots that illustrate the horrible matchmaker, both wins and loses (cause it isn't just about me)
So, for illustration, look at the first pic below. Imagine if you were the player blocked out by the red bar and how that match felt to him or her. Do you think it was fun being paired with 9 sub 100 pt players against a team with 4 400+ pt players? It certainly wasn't fun or challenging for me, although I did well. Think it's a fluke? See pic 2. I have dozens of pics like this from my game experience but I picked ones where I was on the winning side to show it isn't just sour grapes from losing on my part. For contrast, the 3rd pic indicates a near perfectly balanced game, at least from my perspective. And I would also have said it was perfect if their last guy had killed me...because close matches are fun, exciting, and challenging.
BTW, I include my scores not to show off my e-peen or something but to answer the inevitable "which guy were you" summary. I also tend to screenshot more matches where i do well...I certainly don't always break 100...

However, if you were to say "screw Elo we will make it weight only" there will be so many stomps it will be unbelievable and everybody would be plagued by groups of very skilled Victors or Highlanders who crush your teams 4 trial Atlas's and leave the rest of the team with no way to fight.
The very good would almost always win in a very not fun way and roflstomps would be soooo common as skill differences will be so wide. You think it is bad now when it is trying to match people up against each other with equal skill....just wait till you see what happens when you take that away and just match weight...I remember before Elo...You could literally go on 100 game winning streaks and maybe 2 or 3 of those would be an interesting match.

ELO may not be perfect, but it IS much better than before ELO. Sure, you get some 12-0, 12-1 and 12-2 matches now, but 8-0 and 8-1 matches were outright commonplace 12 months ago. 8-7 matches were incredibly rare.
I'm pretty sure the heavily one-sided matches now are happening for a couple of reasons.
- good ELO matching, but bad weight matching (or bad ELO/ton matching, like Wispy suggests)
- bad team tactics
Just because you have a high ELO, does NOT mean that your team is playing well or using comparable tactics to the other team. Most of the one-sided matches I see lately are when a few key PUGs or maybe 4-man premade goes and runs off and they get picked off one at a time, leaving you with a big deficit to crawl out of. I think I can attribute just about every lopsided loss OR win to seemingly ridiculous tactics on the losing side. Only a few times has it looked to me like one team was particularly out-skilled and out-gunned.
I'm not saying that matchmaking couldn't be a fair bit better. But it could definitely be an awful lot worse. I'll take this over pre-ELO any day.
