A good All Round Build With an XL engine, which works well with small side torsos,

Don't go catapult if you don't plan to use the jumpjets
Don't go lock on missiles without BAP
Don't put ammo in torsoes
Need self defense vs squirrels, there's far too many to be had in 12v12
Adjust back torso armor values as you like

My build looks like Erish's, just with a medium laser swapped with a tag.
I keep changing, double lasers usually scary lone lights, but the tag does wonders when facing ECM.

The build that has given me fairly good results http://mwo.smurfy-ne...f6570e046997f03. you're pretty fragile and need to stick with the team, but quickly do a lot of sustained damage by chainfiring. I wouldn't say it's worth sacrificing that potential to mount anti-light weapons rather than just keep other assaults or heavies nearby to help deal with light swarms. But if you'd rather have independence, I'd say the A1 can do it much better with the champion 2xLRM15, 4xSSRMs build

I find the C4 itself difficult to reccomend; I have been happy with my C1, A1, and K2 Catapults.

This is my CPLT-C4 Build.
-Tons of LRM Ammo
-Streaks usualy Scare the Lights( leged countles Spiders
)
-The Laser is just Personal pref. add a Medium Laser or anything else you want(made a few kills with that SMPL).
-Never go without AMS.
For me its the Best Build, Good Numbers and Kills. i enjoy it.

Have you ever used all of your LRM ammo on that build? I've found 3 tons per LRM15 to be more than sufficient.

I run http://mwo.smurfy-ne...9c8eef272863254, works pretty well. Has enough secondary weapons to not being a sitting duck when someone gets in your face.
When I run it I stick with the main group. You're a lot more effective shooting LRM's into exposed targets (that are engaged with someone else) from 300-400 meters away, than you are lobbing max-range non-LOS shots into the side of a mountain. You're also less vulnerable to fast movers when you're with the main pack.
I've found that since I'm with the pack (and it's counter ECM), plus sometimes in range of my own BAP, that I can live without Tag. On a -C1 I'd definitely run 3 ML and 1 Tag, but with only 2 energy hard points on the -C4 personally I view it as too big a sacrifice.

Yes, it Happens alot.(Long Range 800+m,Targeting Lights etc)
When i Pick my Targets Carefully and just Fire when they are Close etc i end up with 1k Ammo left at the End.
But i like Shooting at anything that Moves so im fine with it.
Sometimes i drop Laser/Tag nd the Ssrm for even more Ammo.
