Doesn't look too crazy imo
Craziest part is having the NO back armor at all
, and the AMS ammo in the ct. Put the ammo either in the cockpit or in an arm. Also maybe it's just me, but I'd rather run the XL360 instead of the STD300, since you'll gain quite abit of speed for hit and running as well as upping survivability for the same reason (large CT on the orion).
Basically something like this instead http://mwo.smurfy-ne...b554a9b5e714c3c

Ok wait a sec, I just noticed that you have a ridiculously high heat efficiency with that build haha... Yeah ok, I take back what I said in my previous post, it is a crazy build! But not in a bad way, you can prolly stand in lava and shoot all day
Here's a suggested tweaked version http://mwo.smurfy-ne...fc3a5ddd113e561
Dropped most of the double heatsinks, got endo-steel, added a LB10X (since your build is close range). Alternatively you can grab a UAC5 or an AC5 instead and get more heatsinks if you feel like you need that instead

Well the idea is to shutdown the enemy mech with flamers then SRM like crazy.
I wonder if that tactic would actually work.
The "crazy" part is it is very risky because it relies on extreme close range and flamers take time to shut the target mech down, so he will get some shots at you first.
The very high heat efficiency makes sure you can flame a long time even in hot spots and not shut down yourself.
Yeah it needs back CT armor. I forgot to add that.
Its probably a fun novelty build for laughs than something that is competitive.

Short answer is no... Their going to see your flamer, roll over and laugh. Giggle as a tickles, then stand back up and kill you. Flamers are ok for the visual effect (which seems to have been reduced) but don't do much for actually building up heat on enemy mechs at the moment.
The SRM's will hurt, but their split as far apart as you could possible get them, so unless your firing at near max range your pretty much going to hit every part of the enemy mech.. Nice for shotgunning lights but that's about it until their armor is already stripped.
Might be fun to run, but would be very surprised if it was any more effective than a normal splat cat/orion/jag using ML's or AC's to backup the SRMs'.

the only real problem i see is that flamers are broken and no matter how many heatsinks you have you will still overheat just because when you get more heat from them when firing over time for some reason still if you replaced them with MPLs or something and found a way to put more ammo (you have 16 shots) it would work pretty well i suppose (note that i love running a splatapult)

In all honesty I think that the Orion is among the worst brawler mechs in the game right now. Yeah, you'll probably pull off some okay damage with the SRMs, but the dual flamethrowers might as well not even be there. It wont be enough to overheat anyone who knows how to manage heat properly, and it's not that hard to hit an Orion at point-blank, even through a wall of fire. If anything throw in some mediums or medium pulses if you absolutely have to have an all-close range Orion build. Anyone with AC20 will probably burn you down faster than you can burn them down in close range, and anyone with LRMs, gauss, PPCs, LLas, ect can probably burn you down before you can even get in range unless you pull off some really sneaky Orion piloting.

OK, modified it to be not so crazy.
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...91a6f5e130db0e2
4 SRM6, 2 MLs, Armor on the back.
Not sure its that good, but it may work at rushing in and out and brawling at point blank range.

It will do OK. If you want to go all out, you can add Endo Steel, and turt the Orion into a poor man's Timberwolf (2xERLL+4xSRM6).
