It's really interesting when you see players going mad if some guys don't ready up!
Their statements in the chat are sometimes really unfriendly or even abusive.

So sayeth the Oatmeal:

"What its like to play online games as a grownup"

http://theoatmeal.co...s/online_gaming

Frankly in the spirit of being positive. I find the ready button useful. Its a good opportunity to type in a quick message of what I'm going to do to help the team as an opening move AND It separates the anxious impatient, non-team players from the intelligent patient ones.

Right away I can peg whom I know will be utterly unreliable and childish and not back them up when they charge into a fight alone, or remember they will likely leave me high and dry when in a fire fight.

I also think to be fair, we shouldn't think that every whiner who write "rolly rolly rolly rolly rolly READY UP" isn't a child. There are some really immature adults who sometimes wear diapers while gaming and live in their parents basements.

As I've said before in another post, for some players(me included) the ready button is un clickable sometimes and there's nothing they can do but wait. I was legged once because of this. Support said it was a known bug and "They're working on it".

Unfortunately some of us can't grind for 4-8 hours a day and we get in 3-5 quick matches before we run off to other real world things. That one match is spoiled. I do hope that we get an in-game Report (playername) -> For: a.) Being a jerk, b.) TKing c.) Abusive Behaviour/Harassment etc. This works fairly well in another game I use to play and streamlined the process greatly.

We had a guy threaten and make true of his promise to leg one of our teammates because they hadn't "readied up". Ridiculous!

Don't hit launch if you're not ready.

the problem here is that You may be ready when you hit launch, but in the eternity that it takes to find a match, something else just might pop up.

That feature was not ready for prime time. It needs an auto option for real.

Dude i dont play 4-8 hours a day either, i have real life **** i have to do too, but the best thing you can do is report teamkillers, especially if they ruin your round.

one time i hit launch only to find the carbon monoxide detector went off (extremely lethal). so i strapped on my gas mask (dad served in the Military police and received 5 of them by the end of service) and went to investigate. turned out it was only a low battery warning and so i returned to the game only to find i had a *** full of AC/20. i hate people like this.

Off topic to be sure, but for future reference, in case your CO monitor goes off for real, and military issue GAS mask will NOT, I say again, WILL ABSOLUTELY NOT IN ANY WAY, SHAPE OR FORM, protect your from carbon monoxide gas. Take it from someone who has spent the last 20 years of their life in the Army teaching people how to properly wear them.

You are missing the point. Which is that the reporting process needs to be streamlined, and for those of us that have to deal with impatient children, it wastes the experience. The easier it is to deal with them the less they can get away with.

Rolly, I've already quit matches full of foulmouthed children. There's no reason to waste my time. Fired up my second mech, and gone playing with more mature people. So I know what you mean there.

But still, I see people screaming "PRESS READY YOU !!1!" and I'm like nope, and tell them so.

Solution:
Remove ready button.
Some people are simply just too dumb to notice it on the screen
Some people get a real emergency.interruption
Some people have connection issues
Remove ready button removes the irritation for your team for these 3 things.

When person fails to move for say, 20 secs at start of match they are marked as afk and disconnected from the game earning 0 xp and credits-they are not contributing and should not be rewarded.
Team being a player or more short then earns +10% extra xp and credits for each player they are short, to try to make up for the afkers.

Glad you're not on the dev team.

But I'll contribute my ideas which are the best ideas of course:

1. Disable chat during the 60sec timer.
2. Hide 'Ready' status for everybody so nobody can see who has or hasnt clicked ready yet.

You would think with all the features they threw at us that had to be toggled off (3PV, Arm Lock) that they would have had a setting in the options for "Ready upon Launch" that was set to 'on' as well.

I assume anyone making everybody else wait is just being an ***.
Agreed. Anyone deliberately making folks wait without good reason is just trolling the new system. Trouble is, in many cases its hard to be certain (I'll say that again Certain) that Trolling/Griefing is the reason they haven't readied up. Killed a Highlander the other day that was apparently a DC at the enemies start point. TWO MINUTES later he popped up in chat wondering why he was dead... Had a game glitch he claimed.. Who knows, I felt bad for the guy if he really had a huge wait to join a game and found he was already cored out..

Good job stuff like that won't happen when the game comes out of Beta! Oh wait...

Personal response to this. If you do more than talk about "Punishing" those that don't ready up when you feel they should I'll report you as a Team Killer. Don't be such a {Richard Cameron} I have no idea of your set up/ping/comp (whatever) you have no idea about mine, I'd rather let a troll go free than shoot an innocent man.

Be irritated if thats how it makes you feel but don't be a Surat*

In team chat while waiting for everyone to hit ready.....
Player 1 takes company command
Player1 conveys a basic plan for the match, lights to join up and cap blah blah blah
team readys up and match starts
My team steamrolled by using that minute to plan ahead.

TL/DR
Teamwork is OP

Look at their ping. If they have more ping than you, they may simply not even be present on the loading screen yet. Otherwise, reasons can occur why a person may be delayed in readying up, as listed above.

However, don't teamkill a teamkiller, no matter the cause. This simply makes you look equally guilty if/when the record is audited. Take a screenshot and file a report to support@mwomercs.com.

^
This. Though you do have the right to defend yourself, so if you find yourself the victim defend yourself. If you are actually witnessing the event in front of you, defend your teammate. If you hear of it happening, and spend the whole game trying to hunt the perpetrator down, you are in the wrong and should stop. Abandon the teamkiller to his fate, and help the rest of your team win.

Then, as stated, report to support the events that happened and let them deal with it.

The fact that they wasted ballistic ammo on a TK really shows you how dumb they are...

They can't ALL be foulmouthed kids? All 11 ? If I was one of those 11. I'd sorely miss intelligent mature backup and coordination. The kids are annoying as (expletive here), but I'd prefer not to bail on the rest of the apples just because of a few rotten ones.

While I agree with No.2 - No.1 still technically should be useful, because it SHOULD give your team a chance to organize, coordinate and not lose any initiative at the start of a match. I think certainly hiding the ready status will help reduce the foolishness.
