Here is a sneak peek on my new LDD project.
As I start to fill in the mech I will bump the thread with new shots and work on it more. So if more people want to see it done faster it shall be done :)

Did someone order Missiles? Because I know I did.

A comparison of the two:

Here is the legs: (well just the one right now but hey I did it.)

Signs that this is still alive, to some point. So here is a new foot concept that I'm taking a liking to.

Here is what the leg looks like as of now there are a few things I'm not liking but it's to a point I actually like now. (I'm leaving the old leg here for people to see progress.)

A fast update showing both legs in a running pose.

This will be what she'll look like, I have to say I'm loving the way she looks.

She's near finished now time to write her some lore ;D.

Sir, I think we’ve found something down here, it seems to be a prototype Battle ‘Mech blueprint. so the records says any way. Most of the tech in the blueprint was placeholders and give us nothing new but the ‘Mech itself looks to be in a near finished state. If those House Marik guys will hold up their end of the deal it looks that we will have fresh ‘Mechs to fill in our ranks. I’ll send everything we have up now.

It's all in the amount of time you put into it, just as everything else in life. Just build, try new ideas even if you know it wont work, or you wont like it. Also Google is your friend, just look up things like "Lego Mechs" for ideas, and or help. That's what I do, and I'm not that great at this.

Yet again bump, for update. The laser painter, what do you guys think? I could go either way on it having it or not. but what do you think?

Bump for missle racks. I know I could do a massive update at the end of the day. But I like this way as I do bits and peices.

The lack of comments disturbs me. What no one has anything to say? No this could use work, or this looks good.
What hurts the most(to an artist of any sort) is not a peep out of anyone.

Please note it's the school, and work week for me so updates on the week days will be close to none. Unless I choose to work on it with the little spare time, in witch I may just do so.

totally disagree dude! LDD is as unique a skill IMO as 3d renders are from 2d line art, etc. I can build some pretty cool stuff with legos if they are in front of me. And I can draw. What I can't do, is conceptualize taking the one form to the other with out having the hands on pieces to touch and change and re-arrange. You guys who do the LDD designs are just as legit as any of the other media we get here, and I love seeing the stuff, even if I can't justify the cost of ordering some of the builds.

Anyhow, so far, I have nothing really to add to your thread... it looks really good, I am guessing some sort of walker unit will be the finished idea? Anyhow, the torso/carapace and alunchers look really well integrated with a consistent theme, kinda reminds me a tad of the Sagitairre from the 3067 TRO, kinda hoping you give it some beefy haunches like that........but could just as easily see it going in a different direction as a 70-75 ton "link" between the Crab and King Crab. About the only thing I am wondering is where the cockpit is?

oh, and yes definitely keep the laser sensor/TAG in the nose. I have always liked that "apache longbow" type pod when it can be worked in. Ditto your sundry other radar and sensor domes. Kinda curious if you can integrate a phalanx style AMS into the upper torso some how.... (though the scale may not work.... hmmm)

Wow..... T-Thank you.
Any how the problem I'm going to run into is the legs witch I SUCK massively at. I've been think to have someone help me in some way with it.
I'll work on the AMS although I might go with the multi-projectile diffusion system or as I call it a MPDS.
Note this isn't entirely based in the BT universe so there might be stuff I come up with or use that isn't a thing in the slightest.
But a MPDS is a shot range 60-80mm cannon shooting "bulbous" like rounds in witch the computer tells when the round to detonate like a mini clusterbomb sending submunition in almost a 360 degrees of direction to engage all threats to the unit itself.

Cool idea. Kind alike how Rubidry used the "Metalstorm" multi barrel system for his AMS on his Kodiak design. Canon Btech or total homebrew, it's all good, as long as your design theme is consistent throughout the unit. Inconsistency can ruin a design faster than anything

An example of a BAD design would be like this 2005 Monte Carlo
Posted Image

Notice how the design totally loses its coherency and flow right at the B-Pillar? (Back of the doors) It looks like the front and back of the design are from 2 totally different cars, and thus, no matter how well or poorly executed either portion is, as a total, it fails, badly.

For your legs, like I said, you will need some feel of mass, both for mechanical AND aesthetic balance. A digitigrade in the vein of this
Posted Image

but with a less organic, more mechanical feel, would be my first impulse to try. Biggest thing I would suggest is to pencil sketch your upper unit, then print it on multiple copies and try sketching 5-10 different basic leg designs, and seeing what you feel flows best. Maybe post your "top 3" contenders on here for feedback, ya know?

And as asked here is the cockpit: (everything white is the cockpit, although not all of the top bit.)

This was the whole start to the mech the original leg then I pulled in ideas for the mech's torso.
It started off as a mech based off of the Cicada (my favorite in MWO, that little ****** is my baby.) As I love the bent hindleg idea the Cicada has going for it. But as most of my work doesn't stay with the "Original idea" most of my stuff is "ohhh let me put this here and that there."

http://s1291.photobu...html?sort=3&o=0

As well I'd really like to know how you put your images right into the page, I've wanted to know for a long time now.
Lastly I'm still looking for a name so if any ideas jump to you. You know who to hit up.

on the links box to the right of your image, you see 4 options. just left click on the last one, labeled "Image" and then past that link directly into your post. The Forum should do the rest.
