yes. but that was before HSR.
before HSR one could easily find the hitbox with a couple of shots... now... impossible to find... the hitbox just freaks out around the target mesh even with near zero jitter.

Honestly I've not found much of a problem to be honest. If your shot doesnt register, dont get annoyed in a match, just re-aim, take the next one. Also DONT aim for the torsos on lights, rip their legs off. Its faster and easier.

yes. sadly it's the safest way against them when they are circling you. My fav mech is an atlas rs. With it, its possible to just sweep their anticipated path with 4 LLs to get their legs... but.. it causes some friendly damage in a tight formation too.

I have driven big and small and the way I get knocked out on a spider is 9/10 times to take out the legs. The reason why I hate spiders when driving a Atlas is when a spider runs and stand against it, the Atlas can not bend down far enough to hit it. It also does not help there is no collision between mechs and what I found that is you can run into another mech and kill it from inside.
I myself has also been killed that way.

There is collision against mechs.... speed and size play a factor. The 'run into and kill from inside' is..inconsistent and is dependent on movement of both mechs. Hence the rubber banding when mech 'scrap paint'.

Ok ya one issue with lights being OPed is thus - Scaled Speed so a Kintaro running at 135 kph keeps stride for stride with a light going 150 kph as speed in the game is capped at 150 kph. We tested this the other night and a guy from my unit kept up w me across the map..... I agree Spiders are an issue as my player than use them have a 150+ png so the get the hitbox issue and the missing because of ping.

135 kph Kintaro? More trolling? Show me this ultra-speed Kintaro please.

Yup.. wouldn't it be nice to have some sort of melee-attack? An Atlas simply kicking a Spider that's parked underneath its chin ... I'd love to see that.. Or is the art of butt-kicking considered Lostech in this game, too?

I agree it should be but there is various times it has happen to me. In a spider I have even ran through an enemy atlas. I will try to get a video of it happening. The trick is I can not just duplicate it. I suspect it has got to do with lag. Also the only time I get rubber banded is when I collide with my own team mates not when I hit the enemy.
