Totally this. Nearly hit 1000 damage for the first time yesterday, using 2ac10's on a Jager, with a Med pulse laser and standard medium laser.

146 shells of AC10 is a lot, the rate of fire and range far exceeds the AC20 and you can engage at any range.

Yup. Think that's fun, try it on the DD with 1 AC10, 4 MG and 2 MLaser. A little lighter on ammo then I like, but fun.

BUT, my go-to is either an Ilya with a 340XL, 2x AC10 w/105 rounds, 2 Medium lasers. My "freebie" is to do similar with a Jager.

Actually, the AC-10 is the best of the autocannons depending on how you like to play. I like manever warfare with fast medium mechs with an XL engine. I want to have range as well.

AC-2's and AC-5's require that you stand out in the open firing away, and that can lead you to be popped by an AC-20, Guass, or PPC blast from somebody else.

I would rather fire, then duck back into cover to reload, then out again.

The AC-10 is the autocannon of choice for that as it scores good in most respects. Good heat control, good range, good firepower, with perhaps a slight lack of rate of fire, but as I said that is actually a good thing in certain builds where you pop out fire, and go back to cover.

idk i think the RoF is just about perfect. It's far far faster than anything else with similar punch, and even though an ac5 might fire twice for each one shot you get, as you said, that means not only standing under fire, but also still has a good chance of hitting totally separate locations to boot.

Ilya, 200XL, 2 extra DHS, 3xAC10, 6t ammo
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...62bb535776e79b0

snap some more armor away for one extra ton of ammo.

Switch to XL 255 and put Endo on. Then add .5 ton more armour or drop .5 ton and add 1 more ammo
