There's still a LOT of game being worked on. Besides the impending UI 2.0 and DX11, there's also the upcoming Community Warfare (eventually) that will add TONS of content and gameplay (in theory). All of this should be free, although there may be some aspects that require some form of payment or premium time.
Not to mention Maps, Mechs, and more that are all still under development.

I'm not 100% sure what you mean by DLC. Technically ALL the content of this game is downloadable, as there is no "hardcopy" version. If you mean paid downloadable content, perhaps you missed the description of this game as a "Free to Play" game. There have been some paid only aspects to this game (Phoenix package, Founders, Hero mechs) but none of those are necessary to play, enjoy, or compete in this game.

On most free to play games you have EXTRA CONTENT!!! NEW WEAPONS,LEVELS,AND ARMOR!!! ALL YOU HAVE TO DO TO GET THESE EXTRA ITEMS IS TO PAY A CHEAP PRICE OF 70$.I think on most free to play games paid dlc forms about 80% of the game, also sorry I didn't clarify I meant paid dlc

Ah, yeah, despite what you may have read on the forums, PGI does a really good job of keeping the core content free and making sure this doesn't turn into a "pay to win" game.

as long as the dlc only forms 10-30% of the game I'm happy

When you say DLC I think Xbox expansions for games. That's not really what's going on here. There are items to purchase, but nothing on the order of an expansion with maps and such.

When I say DLC I think of cheap additions of steam games,on one game it's a new gun... on another game it's a different outfit and so on

You can purchase new mechs ('dlc') with either real money or in game money
