Last month the english speaking world had a brief relapse of conscience and voted not to bomb yet another country into prosperity. But normally, it's par for the course, so clearly nothing hypocritical about it.

It's only hypocritical if you actively advocate peace while participating in war in a 'do as I say, not as I do' kind of way. Having a peace symbol in the cockpit is better described as ironic than hypocritical. So the people who have those hanging peace symbols aren't hippies, they're hipsters.

It's called irony.

Or peace through superior firepower. Or something.

Actually, given the level of cowardice demonstrated by most PUGs, I'd say every one of them should be packing a Peace medal. Perhaps it could be a "reward" for doing less than 100 damage and no kills while driving an Atlas?

If we were talking about reality (no irony), that would be the equivalent of any American president receiving a peace medal for waging illegal wars (which they have since the Korean War). And Obama did receive a "nobel peace prize" despite ordering bombings that killed kids and civilians, and jacking the "Defense" (AKA Attack/Subterfuge) Budget up to 60% to become the next Roman Empire, and ordering the jailing of more whistleblowers than any U.S. President in history. "Here is a medal for waging Imperialism and putting whistleblowers and those left with a conscious in prison, good work bro!"

And yes, I am an American, but what my government does, does not represent my interests.

In a game? Short answer: Just Irony. You know like... (O)riony.
