Only thing is it's too slow.
Second note; rearrange the ammunition to the legs. On slow mechs the bodies are always heavily hit and there isn't enough "padding" to protect the ammo.

My 6SL + MGs Firebrand.

My LB-10 + flamers + MG Jager.

The speed is definitely the problem here. You're gonna have to spam the PPCs as you approach, building up your heat, and getting shot all to hell. You're only as well armored as a medium. By the time you get into brawling range with the LBs, you're gonna have half a mech, if you're not dead already.

I'd go for AC10s over LBs. You'll get a lot more mileage out of your midrange firepower. Try something like this: FIREBRAND .

Runs a little cooler, for about the same damage output. Faster, and better armored as well.

Yeah at first i wanted a pair of AC10, but the weight allowance simply wasnt there, i wanted a nice sniper build, and AC10/PPC gave me good peek and shoot style, but 30 rounds of ammo and 3 ppc blasts in a row before an overheat just didnt cut it. And ive gotten really lucky with LBX builds previosly, the scatter just seemed to like me more often then not, so i figured id try it. I would personally like a heavier mech with high weapon locations, but i cant think of any either in game, or in the rest of the battletech.

And i didnt slot in the large lasers simply becouse for some odd reason i can actually AIM better with the cannons outside of about 300 meters. Beyond that and i miss more then i hit when i try to track a target.

Well, up close you have to turn your torso more, and since you're using such a tiny engine, that slows your rotation speed. That makes it harder to track closer targets.

Your weapon loadout would be fine if you could put it on a faster mech. The Jager chassis is just too big and poorly armored to move that slow. Maybe if you stick to cover, you'd be alright, but then you're not using ER PPCs, and that'd waste your LBs.

You don't need high placement for LBs. They are a brawling weapon. The protector has a higher placed energy slot, but only one. However, this would probably be more versatile. Check it out. PROTECTOR

More armor, faster, higher alpha. Arms are sacrificial. Just take pot shots with the PPC, send out some supplemental LRM volleys, then when you've annoyed them enough that they try and get up in your face, POW with the belly cannons. Tighter spread, too. Maybe it's a dumb build, but it's more efficient than what you got. It'd be a better brawler, and can contribute better at longer ranges.

Yeah Protector is on my list of mechs to grab. But i got my project pheonix mechs in a week or so... and ive long since used up my gaming funds for the rest of the year. And ive got way to many potential designs in the works for the orions. I might actualyl be happy with my mechs by the time the Clans make their apperance.

Tried running the AC10/ Large Laser combo again.... seems to be really hit or miss for me. at the rate i go, i may just say screw it and go AC10s in the arms and the medium lasers in the laser slots... http://mwo.smurfy-ne...097e492a04537a9

AC10s and LBX so far are easily my best weapons.

I currently run my Firebrand with 2 UAC5's and 2 ERLL, AMS, XL 280, 12 DHS. Decent range with both weapons, good rate of fire, liveable heat. Neither weapon has any problems at short range, two mouse buttons, no groping for weapon group 3 for in close.

Played correctly you won't make a lot of kills, but you'll have a buttload of kill assists.

My other Jaeger I'm running 2 AC 10's plus 4 ML, and that flat rocks. I've about given up my AC40 Jaeger, which was stupid fun to play, because it's just better balanced overall.
