Hello MWO Community!

I have thought long and hard about posting or not, and if - how i would present that matter in a neutral and followable way.

I am quite unhappy with the current reward level of mwo, being a founder and playing since closed beta i feel the income generally decreased over several instances whereas the overall prices remained the same.

To back up my point i compare this to the current leader in f2p mmo arena combat -> WoT.
Please bear in mind that i consider myself a decent player, maybe not as great as others but not really bad either, and the numbers are actual in game numbers i have seen ALOT of times.

First: How does the MWO model currently work?
A hero mech grants 30% CBill bonus, Premium Time grants 50% Bonus off the matches base reward. In a small chart:

(I wanted to link directly and it did not let me -> please tell me if you can access the chart!)

As you can see, with premium time and a hero mech you can claim 80% bonus income net.

Now we compare a typical World of Tanks income example with a premium T8 tank (roughly the price of a hero assault mech), and premium time (which costs roughly the same).

http://www.dropbox.c...nm/ChartWoT.PNG

And suddenly we see a whole different picture!
I mainly included the % numbers to be compareable -> As you see they are quite higher?! Why?

Three main reasons:
1) Reduced R&R -> This is currently a factor not considered in MWO and is a flat out buff for the WoT equivalent, cheaper repairs results in a higher net gain.
2) Premium Tank bonus is 50% not 30%
3) Premium Time is applied NOT to the base reward of the game BUT to the reward AFTER premium tank. Which results in another increase of rewards.

As you can see, especially for losses, the prem acc and tank catapult the net gains upwards by up to 500% over the default gains (Or even turn a loss into a profit!). Thats more than 5 times the rewards currently in MWO.

Actually for good matches it decreases in % steadily (but there you had a good match anyways and your ego boost compensates for percentually lower rewards - still higher than base rewards mind you) :)

All in all i hope to prove the point to the community and the devs that the current reward system would need a rework to not annoy their customers so much that they loose interest in paying for the game. Which would result in a tragic loss for all of us!

I want to state again: I love MWO! I can live with small balancing issues. What i can no longer put up with is the grind and the ever decreasing reward curve...
I could have so much more fun in this game messing around with paints, decals, cockpit items, new mechs etc etc if it just was more affordable ...

I hope this was not too tedious to read and hope for any constructive feedback :D

PS: I just bought my first XL engine, i think that tipped me over the edge for posting this :D

My biggest gripe is having to buy another mech bay if I want to buy a hero mech.
WOT bundles their garage slots with their tanks.
Wouldn't it be great if MWO bundled their Hero mechs with a mech bay?

Nope. As it is now, we are free to either buy Hero mech + a bay, or just a Hero mech. Some of us wants the former - replacing a mech they don't like (because it was or going to be "upgraded" by something better - say, relatively recent addition: Jager, or Phoenix mech, whatever). Some of us simply have a free bay (and thus wouldn't like to pay additional MC for a bay; should hero 'mech be sold with bays, most likely at least part of bay's price would be incldued to hero 'mech prices). Others among us indeed want a new bay together with a hero mech, - but they are easily able to get it, buying it separately.

So you see, the way it is now gives most freedom to any possible player's desire. It really varies per person. Some players are real strange, they want things you or me would never want, you know? ;)

Actually, WoT only bundles the garage with the tank in their gift store (they also charge for teh price of the tank and the garage slot (so it is not really a savings). Buying a premium tank through the in game store, you need an open garage slot.

....are you for real? Who would not want a free mech bay with a purchase of a hero mech? You don't pay extra for the bay, it should just come free with the hero mech.

I concur, I want a mech bay included in the price of a hero mech. I'm sick of buying bays and the hero mech on top of it. Right now if I want a boars head I'd have to buy a bay to go with it... it makes the huge expense that much more unappetizing which is why I won't pull the trigger on it.

Well the Charts weren't aligned. One stated 20,40,50,80 while the other had 40,60 80,100 as baselines. How does one compare Apples and Oranges?

If MWO gets to the point where I have to buy a Premium mech or "golden bullets" to DAMAGE other mechs, frrom perfectly lined up rear shots... I will be out faster than a 64 kph Locust vs an Atlas.
