Ok why is there scaled speed in this game? A 130 kph med should not be able to keep step for step with a light going 150 kph light. The light should easily pull away but no.

There isn't. A 150kph light will outpace a 130kph med. However, it'll happen slowly - just like if the light was walking away at 20kph.

If you're piloting the light, and evading the medium, he'll probably keep up with you because you need to zig and zag to avoid fire, while he can cut corners and run directly at you.

Yup, the pull away won't be instant. Like if a car pulled away from you at 20 kph while you stood still. It would take a while for it to get out of range (particularly when your range is over a quarter of a kilometer).

The fact is though everyone wants speed damage mitigation nerfed. It same concept in ww2 that you often heard. A guy shooting at the ww2 fighter strafing his area almost never hits. The only reason the strafing fighter hits is there is many infantry on the ground and it has rapid fire weapons hitting virtually UNARMORED targets. Similar instances exist in dog fights anything over 80 kph is very very hard to hit and hurt when it is armored. Classic battletech accounted for this with a speed targeting mod. Ie mech m oves 0 to 2 hexes no mod to hit, 3 to 5 its +1, 6 to 8 +2 (might been plus 3 been long time) In this game it should be accounted for with speed mitigation damage mod. That is your moving over certain speed the damage is mitigated somewhat.... People equate battletech armor with the same as current fielded armor in Iraq etc. It is not the same not even close. Mech armor is made of diamond steel composite approximately 12 times denser than current fielded armor on tanks.

That's why in Battle tech old style classic tanks still exist but they die fast. Their armor and parts are made using inferior tech. Similar to say a musket man trying to snipe with ww 2 standard issue rifle. There is no comparsion. The only thing might save the musket man is superior thinking and tactics and possibly luck if the other guy's rifle were to jam.
