I mean, do we really need one? Once knockdown gets reintroduced, there will be nothing hero about it.

It's not a hero it's a champion. Was expecting new mech(besides pheonix mechs next week) they said 2 mechs per month, guess that isn't happening?

Yeah, not a hero. Just a champion. L2Read.

Fair enough, but, Irrespective of the terminology, a hero and a champion are not that different - both do not come with a mechbay and pretty much pack the same kit.

They are very different things....

- While they both cost MC, the Champions cost substantially less than Heros
- Champions are just optimized builds of an already existing c-bill variant. For example the new Spider Champion is just an optimized 5K ("optimized" meaning it comes preloaded with an XL engine, double heatsinks, and a better weapon loadout), and gives the player a small (10%) XP boost.
- A Hero is a COMPLETELY unique variant of a chassis, with unique hardpoints and skins. Hero mechs never "pack the same kit." Take the Misery for example: it is the only Stalker to have a ballistic weapon slot. Heros grant a large (30%) boost to c-bill earnings.

I read Champion Spider on the way.

I think. "Where is the Hero Spider?"

Very well put. Champions grant XP bonuses (good for (G)XP grinding) and Heroes grant CBills bonus (for grinding upgrades, new 'Mechs, etc.).
