I say it again: PGI's 3D-modelers really have a body-builder fetish
Thunderbolt, Battlemaster, Centurion, Victor, always the same story.....concept arts are looking smooth, 3D-models have ugly proportions

Seriously, could this community be a bigger group of crybabies? "WHAAAA!!!! THIS 'MECH HAS MINOR ALTERATIONS FROM A CONCEPT ART DRAWING!!!! WHAAAA!!!!". It's f**king CONCEPT ART, for giving the general CONCEPT of the design and nailing down key features, for later modification as needed.
I see what you're saying, but...
The Locust model looks great. The Shadowhawk looks great, although too big (as expected). The Battlemaster looks ok.
I don't like the Thunderbolt. And at the risk of upsetting you more, I will say this - I am actually very happy that I no longer struggle with the choice of going with Guardian or Overlord instead of Storm package. So this poor design has put my mind at ease, if nothing else.

I'm talking about every other f**ker on these forums, seemingly oblivious to the fact concept art is meant to be a base line for the general idea of something, and not a final blueprint.
But god forbid I point that out because then I'm just mad, and making a scene. Typical internet bullshittery.

Shame, its my favourite from the Phoenix package too. Guess we'll just have to see how it performs.

This is especially true on the Kintaro-20, where both energy weapons are stacked away from the arm. They should always be stacked along the arm.

I would describe it as "brutally functional."
Not every mech has to be a triumph of form and function. Some are blunt instruments. The only phoenix 'mech I would describe as "pretty" is the locust -- which is good, because it has a decent chance of being a hanger queen.

I thought the underslung weapon on the right arm gave it character. Now it is sort of meh. Also, it looks like it has ears and that makes it look a bit teddy bearish. lol
Sort of reminds me of a rehashed Awesome with a missle launcher and offset head.
I was really excited about this one, but now I'm sort of indifferent to it.

Don't think anyone has mentioned what appears to be a rather sizeable leg to torso ratio. I'm guessing if you shoot the crotch area it's going to be a leg hit?
