I haven't gone through the 3000+ topics here and I'm sorry if I am copying another thread but...
I really look forward playing IS, I also like the feel of the Clan. So what to do? Must I stay with the House and miss the Clan experience? Shall I jump ship, join the Clans and miss out on everything you have helped build? Hard decision.
Making a secondary account seems kinda lame. You can start grinding loyalty points when you meet eachother. You'll miss out on conversations because you are on the other side...
Either I don't get to play with my House friends anymore when I switch OR I tend to stay behind with one group of friends while the rest moves on to the clans. There is, off course, the enormous joy of kicking your friends's Mech to oblivion. Although I really want to keep the group together and raid territories with my entire community.
Are there any plans in the future of implementing a secondary pilot on the same account when the Clans come into play?
with regards

Do we HAVE to choose between IS and Clan?

You could join a mercenary unit as a third alternative.

Well, that is a valid point but the entire mercenary thing isn't quite to my liking. Although it is the same thing I reckon with groups of players being divided when the clans come into play. I don't know the mechanics upon hiring a merc group - don't think there is specific data given as of yet? But if you can freely hire established mercenary corps than that could be a solution.
I know I come over as VERY picky about this (And I am definately not a whiner
) but I would just hate it when I'm forced to choose between friend groups.
Am I the only one with these mixed feelings about hopping to other sides and leaving friends?

Ow hell no! Lone Wolf really doesn't have any appeal to me. I wanna have the feeling that you develop your character. Liking the fact that besides the xp element you also have the 'Loyalty Point' system in the game.

It is a PvP only game so you have to pick sides sooner or later....

Yep, do hope we will get confirmation about this stuff from a Dev when the clans will come into play.

From what I have read and interpreted, players will be forced to play IS for an undetermined amount of time (at least two years?) after launch. With core/major plot worlds and units being initially off limits to players, until the Battle of Tukayyid is over in 3052, I don't see players getting into the action until the 3052-3058 lull of full arm IS vs Clan combat begins.
