I really hope the Japanese community is still with us. I had some questions that I don't know still. Do the Japanese have access to the USA servers to play? I have yet to run into someone that speaks the tongue. With the game close to launch I hope as a man from the Kurita faction we will have our fellow international brothers and sisters to join us in the fight.

I'm not Japanese but I do live on the outskirts of Yokohama, so I can at least confirm that we do have access to the US servers. That said, I only know of one or two Japanese people that play this game. Honestly, I don't think the series was ever all that big out here (at least, hasn't been for a very long time). Even so, I'm trying to get a couple of the guys at the office to give it a try, so hopefully that'll help :)

The Japanese forum has been pretty much dead for the past few months...

Possibly, but I haven't seen anything in the way of marketing out here. I also think they'd have better luck with a Japanese version of the website/client. Unfortunately that seems unlikely, according to Bryan's comments regarding localization on the recent NGNG podcast.

Ultimately I think the majority of Japanese players will be holdouts from the old Japanese releases of BT/MW -- as far as I can tell, there's not much being done to attract new blood.

Sadly, yes.

In terms of international vehicle sims Japan seems to be more into World of Tanks than most anything else at the moment.

I am a Japanese who lives in Tokyo.

I agree with Killercage. MWO has a low profile in Japan.
Few people had even known the MW/BT board games once.

MW2,MW3,MW4 games' Japanese versions were released and had mass appeal.
MWO is only released in English and it is difficult for Japanese players to play because of the language barrier.
