Hope PGI considers re-imagining it. The game is will be so different in 6-12 months. With totally different things to spend c-bills on as CW rolls in.

It comes down to I *love* some mechs and want to play them all the time. Then there are the other mechs that I kind of dread every aspect of them. Love is so much better B)


There are reasons why they would force you to play 3 chassis variants, from a RP standpoint and a grind standpoint. I, for instance love it. I get to try 3 completely different beasts. Eliting the Victors for instance would be boring since they are all pretty much the same mech. While the Catapults and the Orions for example are quite varied.

However you make an huge point. A game that forces you do spend money/time on something you don't like might not be a good approach. MMORPGs only force you to endlessly raid/grind the end tier after you're heavily invested. In MWO you need to do it this way to even get to a viable level. It seems to me that you should be able to get a your most loved mech elited just playing it. Eliting 3 variants could unlock some other type of bonus that would entice players to do it but not gimp them if the don't. Like module slots. Or a GXP bonus (like master all the Jagers, you get 10k GXP, bam). Or an extra mechbay. Or 1 free statue of the mech. Something to entice already invested players while allowing new players to just play what they love.
