I would like to have another go at it and make a more practicle cockpit (among other changes), but the MadCat has always had a huge windshield in ever iteration. The MadCat is a loose loose for the designer though, if anything gets changed people will complain that their outdated, impraticle design they cling to as perfection got defiled and if they don't change a thing people will complain that the design is outdated and doesn't fit the art style of the rest of the game.

yeah, no matter how the Timberwolf looks there's always going to be some complaining. As for your picture, not my preferred ideal design for the Timberwolf, but I gotta say it, it still looks freakin' awesome!!!

Me too. This looks like a fat version of a childrens toy, not a 100 ton walking death machine. PGI's art was never bad and only a few mechs don't fit my vision of BT, but thats not even bad.

MW4 Mad Cat:................................................................................Original Mad Cat:
the arms of the MW4 mad cat are short and stubby, with the original the arms are much longer. Look at the knee joints. With the MW4 mad cat the two legs come straight up and down from the knee joint. The original mad cat, the bottom leg potrudes out from the knee, then goes down:
not only that, but I still think the MW4 mad cat looks cartoonish compared to the original Mad Cat
I see your point though I don't think the differences are that radical. Also, you are comparing concept art to crappy graphics. I think of the original madcat as the one from MW2 which is just horrendous.

Honestly this is the style I would use... I scribbled it up in about fifteen minutes. http://fav.me/d6qklf5
I like it.
I usually don't like the Timber Wolf. It's too... boxy? I don't know. But this looks neat.

I am more anxious to see the Vulture then the Mad Cat.
The Shadow Hawk makes me want to see the Hollander make an appearance, though with the wide range of medium mechs capable of equipping a Gauss, it is now largely pointless to include in this game. I still want to see what is basically a commando with a cannon sticking through its body.
Back to the point of this thread... PGI will get it right. It will fit the design of this game, it will respect the original, and it will kick ***. The other one to watch for is the Hunchback IIC. which was a very widely used Clan mech, alongside the Mad Cat. Dual AC/10s mounted into redesigned shoulder pods... It will be really neat to see.
Now for IS mech, the one I really want to see happen is the Hoplite.

...i hear his Cigar is his most deadly weapon!
Hula Girl
"The [hula girl]... lived on a rocky island in the middle of the sea..... [She] sang melodies so beautiful that.. [mechwarriors] passing by couldn't resist getting closer to [her].... Following the sound of music, the [mechwarriors]... would steer their [mechs] towards [her] or jump in the water to get closer.... it always ended in disaster on the rocks."
